First WILD attempt, but i need some help with the SP part

last night i tried for my first time ever, a WILD (twice). this is the process for the first attempt:

-I laid on my back with my hand on my lap
-I breathed slowly, counting every breath
-went for around 15 minutes but lost focus and dozed off for about 15 minutes
-when I woke up, I did not move
-I started counting my breaths again
-I felt a horrible itch on my face, but instead of focusing it away, I just concentrated hard on my breathing, and totally lost focus of the itch, and it went away
-a little time later I felt my body feel as though it were very heavy
-some parts of my body kinda felt tingly
-it felt like I was getting pulled into my bed, and as though my hands were going to get sucked right through my stomach
-I got pretty excited and felt my heart start going faster
-this passed and I started having some HI, and my breathing become a little slower and steadier
-i tried focusing on an object to start making my dream scene
-then i looked up and thought I was in my dream room, but in reality my eyes were slowly opening
-I knew I was awake now, and wanted to see if I was fully paralyzed
-I tried moving my hands, but they were not moving until about 10 seconds they started moving slowly, as if underwater, then my legs
-I was totally awake now, and about 45 -50 minutes had passed (I looked at clock)

I was pretty excited after this, and decided to try again. This is the process for the second:

-I laid in the exact same position, on my back with my hands on top of each other on my lap
-I was really focused this time, counting my breaths
-at about 250 I felt my body start really relaxing
-I felt my legs especially feel tense and almost like they were involuntarily twitching
-the felt as though they were flexing and shaking
-I then really focused on relaxing my legs, and could sense them feeling a little heavier, and the twitching slow to a halt
-with every exhale, I would really feel my shoulders sag and relax completely
-I felt that same irritable itch on my face, and focused even harder on my breathing to lose it
-at this point I realized I could no longer feel my hands
-they felt as if they were buoyant, floating around in water
-could not feel them on each other, they were completely numb
-I then tried to see if I was totally in SP by attempting to press my fingers into the back of the hand it was on
-I felt like I was pressing hard, and could slowly start to feel a little bit of pressure on my hand
-I then noticed I was being brought back to wakefulness, and my legs were really slow to start moving, in the motion of a snow angel

I know have a couple questions:

      1. was I in SP? If no, then what do I do to totally become paralyzed and know for sure I am paralyzed?
      2. has anyone had this sort of SP where you think ur paralyzed, but then start to slowly get back to wakefulness by moving and testing if you are in SP?

Thanks, and once I get this SP thing down pat, I will start to focus on rolling into an LD.

-PS, something i noticed in both attempts is that my eyes would keep slowly opening during my relaxation into SP, and i would constantly have to shut them.

      3. Is this normal? Does it happen to you?

BTW, I am now going to sleep with a sleeping mask to ensure not opening my eyes at screwing it up

      1. I'm a little unsure. One good way to see if you are in SP is to try to open your eyes. If you are in SP, you cannot open them at all.

      2. Yes, many times.

      3. Yes, normal. One of the reasons I almost always sleep on my side.

The sleeping mask is a great way to fix that.

what you described the first time is what happened to me. i think you just need to be patient and you will slip into SP.
