      Controlling Emotion, your thoughts.

      I just recently decided that I wanted to control my emotions and the way people make me feel sometimes. I have to admit, it feels great to release these thoughts out of existence. You honestly feel free and in the moment when doing this, you are in control of emotions, it is no more automatic.

      So my question, does anyone think controlling emotions in real life, will allow for lucidity a lot more in dreams? Dreams are after all, created from emotion, and also that is why we are never in control of them. Because we get swept away in karmic emotions. So I am wondering what everyones thoughts on this are, I believe this is very much like dream yoga/lucid living. However it may just be controlling emotions, who knows.

      I think the best way to "control" thoughts and emotions is simply to observe them in a detached manner and realise that one is not those thoughts/emotions. If that's what you mean, then yes, I think it's an excellent way to increase lucidity (and, indeed, to live). Strong emotions are what normally end a lucid dream for many, especially beginners.

      Great response Astrius, I am doing exactly that. I am wondering if it will lead to more DILD like lucid dreams. Also a fun fact, I actually had a lucid dream this morning. The previous night, I had a long vivid dream too on a full night sleep, which is amazing.

      Edit : One thing I have noticed while controlling emotions, is that the thought process has slowed down a lot. <- My favorite part.
