Lightbulb Anyone else having sooo many problems?

      Hey all =)

I'm just wondering if anyone else here is having REAL difficulty realizing they're in a dream because i seem to go along with it pretty easily even if there is a 10-ton female naked pirate sitting beside me i still believe its a normal occurrence in my dreams... lol

I always try to attempt FILD's but i only get to the stage where i feel my body shifting then I lose concentration... id just love to be able to do an RC in my dream

      any advice?

again, cheers guys for ur help =)

For how long have you been trying? Maybe your current technique isn't working for you, then you can try another one.

I can take quite a bit of effort for some. I trust you are keeping your journal and have identified dream signs, right?

Also, you need to be practicing a number of techniques each week. What else are you trying? WILD, MILD, WBTB?

The more you try, the more you increase your chances since even though you are not succeeding, you ARE training your mind to LD
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

I always try to look through my dream journal (in the morning or some other time) and identifying at which points i could have became lucid and imagining my self doing a reality check at that point, so my brain gets use to realizing differences between reality and a dream.

That's a really good idea, I never go through mine with that intent, but I will start now. Question: do you think about those things no one ever gets lucid from? like the truly ridiculous things? I mean, DILDs tend to be brought on by some mundane difference in a mundane dream. Would something really out there like a 10 ton pirate really cause lucidity? So do you consider those points at which you can become lucid?

Ye, i try to pick any differences between reality and a dream, even things like a picture situated on one wall where it should be on the other wall. The 10 ton pirate will never cause lucidity if you believe it to be part of your normal everyday reality.

Lol I have the same problem! I've only been trying to LD since Monday, but it seems during my dreams, I just don't get it that I'm in a dream! Last night for instance, I dreamed that I was on the sidelines at one of my games (I play semi-pro football) gettin freaky with this beautiful woman behind the bench. I also when I went into the game, my childhood friend Brandon Marshall caught a very long TD pass (B Marshall is in the NFL, he wouldn't be playing semi-pro football). I should've realized when I've got a chick with her top off behind the bench in the middle of a freakin' football game I'm PROBABLY dreaming

And thats just one of MANY times I should've realized that I was dreaming. I just think that the more practice you get doing RCs, the easier it will become to attain lucidity. I just can't wait to have my first!

Whenever i try most of the methods it doesnt feel like it should even if i try the method EXACTLY the way it says to.

the ONLY method ive found to nearly work is FILD where, as ive said in my other posts, i get a real shaking sensation, as if listening to one of Jimi Hendrixs songs where oon my ipod the sound goes from one ear to the other, but i feel my body shaking.

But when it comes to realising im in a dream, i muts find it hard because when im in real life, i have day-dreams allllll day, i have the imagination of an 8 year old and im nearly 17.... could that be the problem?

      again cheers for advice

hey, it is hard, for me the two dreams I've had that have been significant (1 DILD, 1 very short WILD) in terms of lucids have happened with no technique, they just happened. The best thing you can do is improve your recall, that will heighten your chances even if the letter by letter method following isn't working. This is for two reasons; of course the obvious one is that there's no use LDing if you don't remember it, but also once you get used to the quality and usual content of your dreams, you'll be able to recognize when you are in one more easily.
      Don't give up!
P.S I love that you have the imagination of an 8 year old
