      WILDING: pre SP

i saw the other thread title so i decided to name mine after it. anyhoo down to business.

so this is what happens to me most of the time i WILD. after awhile, i will feel a rush of the numbness pricklies. but this only lasts for a few seconds and i go back to feeling normal. the numbness will come again for a few seconds then go away. this can happen up to 5 times in a row. i usually end up rolling over or something after awhile. sometimes i will be able to WILD later but it is never while i feel numb.

i have a few theories. one is that sometimes while my mind is relaxed during this, i will still feel my heart rate increase. it is weird. so maybe i wake up more from that? other times i find it hard to focus on my counting when this is happening. maybe i am thinking of my body at this point?

so if anyone has any ideas on how to focus on counting when this happens, or any other explanations i would appreciate it. thanks.

Hm that happens everytime i try to wild too, i feel my heart rate increase, then it slows back down and nothing happens.

I start feeling my arms go numb, then my heart rate goes up but it seems like the progress stops there. I can repeat to that same spot like you said 5 times even, but it doesnt seem to go past that.

Usually i cant stand the numb feeling anymore so i move like 1 finger and all the numbness goes away and im back just lying there again.

I was thinking once your heart rate goes up you start thinking about that too much and that breaks your concentration.

for me, i also have my arms go numb first. i can often get past this though until my whole body gets numb. that is where i am stuck. but then again, there are days where i am stuck at my arm being numb.

Anyway........are you wilding after a WBTB? I ask this because the fast heartbeat thing that you described happpens to me when I try to WILD at bedtime not in a WBTB format.

just stick with it. this part pretty much means that u r real close. what you should do here is:

      (like that one tutorial)
      1. Start picturing yourself walking in ur backyard or somewhere u can stick ur arm out and feel things. like, i picture walking in my backyard, 'feeling' the fence. 'feeling' my hand move up and down. ALSO** this helps: if ur walking aorund and u find that a tree is in ur way (or something in ur way), instead of walking around it, walk right on through it. this helps give ur brain that slightly unrealistic touch that will spark ur dream and imagination.

      2. When u breathe, breathe all of your air out, like so u r totally deflated. for me, this just makes me feel more like sp, and then it comes soon after. but be carefull not to drain ALL of ur oxygen every breath, or u will start breathing faster which is what u dont want.

      hope it works

I don't know how to make more than one quote in a single post so i will respond to this one here.

I like number 1. I just normally count and visualize numbers. If i do what you said and think about tactile sensations also, it will help me keep my mind off what my body is really feeling.

      thanks

It is because your thread is so cool i wanted to be like you. Yeah, i do it after WBTB. At first, my heart rate is faster when getting into bed. But the issue is after being in bed for awhile. So my heart rate will slow down after a few minutes but speed back up again.

yeah it is possible. people here have done it and said it took only a few minutes. i heard when you nap, you go straight into REM sleep. so maybe if you have had irregular sleep patterns you could do it when you go to bed. or i guess if you are really good (or really dedicated) you could wait the 90 minutes. it would be cool to be conscious during deep sleep. i am not sure because i have never done it before.
