      Using dream signs

Ive been recording my dreams for a pretty long time now, and ive noticed what i think are some of my dream signs. These signs unclude things like not being able to use electronic things and people transforming into other people. Before i go to bed i always tell myself to remember to a reality check if one of these happens, but everytime it happens in a dream i can never remember to do a reality check. Does anyone know anything i can do to make myself remember to do a reality check?

In addition to performing the RCs in real life like imj suggested, I like to visualize performing reality checks.

Visualize a common dream setting and the action that would prompt you do the reality check, and visualize performing the reality check. Take your time and make these multisensory experiences. This will help you link the performance of the reality check to the cause in a deep way, and hopefully your dreamself will perform them.

When visualizing, you could also look at dreamsigns you have recorded and relive those dreams, perform the checks you forgot to do and imagine the outcome. What would you have done if you succeeded? Give meaning and incentive to performing reality checks. I think my dreamself would be more likely to perform RCs if I have linked the idea to a pleasurable lucid experience like flying.

      Good Luck
Maybe, just for a second, you'll be awestruck.
      ...do you feel it to?

Should this be in the Dreamsigns and recall thread?
      Just saying.
I spose trying to remember to see the dreamsigns can come under Attaining Lucidity.

I tend to try to make it a habit to reality check constantly throughout the day, rather than just at night. I like to take in my surroundings, really look at things and pay attention to their details, take deep breathes and try to poke my finger through my palm all while asking "Am I dreaming?" I like to try and find something that is off or not right. Trying to find something that doesn't fit or make sense.

Making a habit of this, doing this regularly every few hours, every hour, half hour or just when you remember(but nonetheless turning it into a habit like biting your nails or cracking your knuckles) should get you doing reality checks in your dreams in no time.

Agreed. But many say they look for something off or not right. Fine if you are dreaming, but in your normal day RC's, what do you ever find that is off?

The point isn't to find something. The point is to make an effort to find something, to train yourself to look for something so that you'll repeat it in a dream where you will find something.

No probs Exo, but how do you try and find something you don't even know is there or off. Like looking for something, but don't know what you are looking for because in daytime life it is not off.
What is the thing you are looking for RL? Please explain.

I don't look for anything specific, not usually. Sometimes I might watch the lines in the road and watch to see if they get wavey or crooked, or sideways. Sometimes even another colour. I might watch for things to be different colours or shapes. But generally I just look at everything and try to see if it looks or is acting like it shouldn't

Ok, and if you blur your eyes you can simulate it too, or blink really fast.

thanks for all the help. I gues the first thing for me to start doing is to do reality checks regularly throughout the day. The only problem with that is that i have no way of reminding myself to do it. (i dont wear a watch either so i cant make an alarm to remind me)
