Well, I can't say you were lucid. Maybe you were hallucinating? If you were, then I think you're on the right track. |

The weird shapes and colors might be the start of hypnagognic imagery- the random images and patterns that appear in your mind as you enter the first stage of sleep. This is a normal part of sleep. But some people use hypnagognic imagery as a sign post on the way to lucid dreaming. Some WILD (Wake-Induced Lucid Dream) techniques call for conscious focus on hypnagognic imagery as you drift off to sleep, thus allowing you to keep part of your brain conscious and active as you enter the dream state and, theoretically, a lucid dream. |

All true, but the general consensus on this site is that focusing on the effects and waiting for the different processes will impede your WILDing. |

REALITY CHECK
It's really up to your subconcious to 'give' you one that night. You can do all the checks in the world for infinite times and still not have an LD when your subconcious 'dosen't' want to. The key to success is the subconcious mind...deal with it and if it deals well with your concious mind ..your in business. But the deeper you probe into it the more confusing it is to your concious mind so it's best to not force it..let it be natural. |
