Thread: So close to attaining lucidity

I gave up LD a while ago when I was unable to do any WILDs or MILDs after trying many times so I stopped writing dream journals and my ability to recall dreams is weakened.

Recently I had a few DILDs but this one made me confused.

I can't remember where I am or how it started, I just remembered that I decided to do a reality check. I looked at my right hand, and counted. I had 5 fingers, perfectly normal! I closed my eyes looked away and imagined I had many fingers.

I looked back and, immediately I knew I had more than 5 fingers, am I seeing things? I counted, 7. I counted again, and still, I have 7 fingers.

I thought my vision was screwed up, so I tried looking at my hand with one eye, and there was still many fingers.

Here comes the important part,

I ask myself, am I dreaming? Somehow my response was no. These is what I asked ...

"Am I dreaming?"
Can't be ...

"Are you sure I'm not dreaming?"
Yeah

"How can you tell?"
I am aware of my actions

"Am I aware of my awareness?"

I am conscious at that moment but yet I didn't realise I was dreaming ...

What can I do to help me realise I'm dreaming? On my other DILDs, I shouted "I am DREAMING!" just to confirm that, but strangely I didn't do that on this particular dream.

When you do RCs in waking life each time affirm in your mind the expected result. With the hand RC you want 5 fingers. Remind yourself that anything other than 5 fingers means you're dreaming! Then imagine what you might do when you do the RC in a dream and you get an unexpected result (which means it is a dream). Imagine what you will feel and do.
