      Dad Ruined WILD

I'm so angry at my dad now... Last night I attampted a WILD, and my dad totally messed it up.

I started getting the vibrations and I heard a distinct ringing in my ear. My arms were resting on my stomache, but my dad came in and moved my arms. This completely blew the WILD, and I wasn't able to try another one.

      [/rant]

My dad doesn't know about lucid dreaming, but I think I'm going to have to tell him so he doesn't mess me up again, but I don't know how he'll react. Anyone have any ideas?

Mention that LaBerge was a Stanford proffesor, that's what convinced my dad. My dad's a chronic smoker, so it was hard for him to believe since he normally has no dreams at all.

EDIT: Oops sorry, LaBerge did his research and got his PhD there, I get it confused sometimes.

Yeah best thing to do is explain that LDing is a scientifically proven phenomenon that has been researched and studied extensively by top university professors. When I first told my mom about it she thought it was just some new age garbage (when I was younger I fell into a lot of new age type trends and she was thinking it was along the same lines). But I made sure she understood that it was a true, laboratory tested phenomenon and the practice of lucid dreaming was likewise scientifically based. Show your Dad a copy of LaBerge's book if you own it.

Why did your dad move your arms? Thats a pretty major invasion of personal space in my opinion.

When I lived at home I was into the occult. My mum came in when I was doing a simple ritual once and I basically lectured her on the importance of personal space for a while. And kept on with this until she started knocking before coming into my room.

I can't see how he'll react in a negative manner if you told him. However, if you begin to mention anything about supplements, i.e. 'lucid aids', then that'll be a different story.

I started to bring up LaBerge's book which I have, and he started acting like he knew all about it... He said maybe he would read the book, but he seemed really uninterested.

I'll try to bring up the personal space thing, but it's kind of hard when my parents are really over-protective...
