      Question Music In Dreams?

Hi all. I've come to notice something about myself. I'm totally addicted to music (I especially love Simple Plan and The All-American Rejects , and the song Alexithymia by Anberlin .) and I listen to it 24/7, including when I'm asleep. Except during school we can't listen to iPods or CD players or whatever so I listen to my music in my head. In any case, I listen to my music all the time.

So far since I've joined this forum and found out about lucid dreaming, music has been in my dreams twice so far, and I've become lucid (yay!) both times due to the lyrics being different in the songs that were playing on my iPod in my dreams.

Now that I've thought about it, this seems, for me, a very good chance for becoming lucid, almost 100% chance if my music is playing in my dream. The only problem being that I don't have music in my dreams very often- only twice in the past month or so since I've joined. Is there any way I can increase the chance of music being in my dreams? Falling asleep to music doesn't help since I do it every night and have only had music in my dreams twice. Thanks for reading.

I've heard music in a few of my dreams. The one that sticks out in my mind involved something sounding like a blend between Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain and Stravinsky's Rite of Spring and Firebird. I was lying down in the dream while it played, accompanied by a visual component of swirling, smoke-like colors hovering in the air. It was neat; I wish I could remember the sound of the music better.

No need to deduce that I am a fan of Disney's Fantasia series, which got me interested in classical music in the first place.
Truths are material, like vegetables and weeds; as to whether vegetable or weed, the decision lies in me.

I've only recalled hearing music a couple of times. One recently was that there was spaghetti all over the floor in my car and I had to clean it up, and all the while my CD player was running and playing the CD that I'd been listening to, and that CD starts out with a track that I have taught myself to do RCs every time I hear it...

So if I were you I would try something like that. Pick your FAVORITE song.

Do RCs every single time that you hear the song, think of the song, hear a lyric from the song...

And then STOP listening to it. Hell erase it from your computer and ipod. You'll be lamenting that song, but doing RCs every time you think about it. And hopefully the emotional tie will bring it into your dream.

Anyway that's what I would try.

      That's very cool, LDW!

I can't help you with anything, sorry.

I've never heard any music in my dreams, but I did do a non-lucid once where I just picked up a bass guitar and started playing the bass lines from the song "Shrinking Universe" by Muse (single best band ever). I spend about five minutes a week toodling with my g/f's strato, and I've never even seen a bass guitar "in person."
Life in a box is better than no life at all, I expect. You'd have a chance, at least. You could lie there thinking, "Well. At least I'm not dead.'
