      Itching when WILDING

Read this advice on dealing with itches on Saltcube forums:-

If you move very very slowly you can move to scratch an itch and still stay mostly in SP. It might take 30 seconds to move your hand up to your ear or where ever but you can do it.

So, anyone else have an opinion on this?

      thanks for the link

Itching in WILDS is usually a problem for me
      http://www.youtube.com/user/jumpinpizza

`Take some more tea,' the March Hare said to Alice, very earnestly.

`I've had nothing yet,' Alice replied in an offended tone, `so I can't take more.'

`You mean you can't take LESS,' said the Hatter: `it's very easy to take MORE than nothing.'

A lot of people report the same.

the advice says if you move real slow you can have a scratch without waking your body up.

Would be great if anyone else could confirm this.

That's kind of a false statement. How can you consider yourself to be paralyzed but still move? Also, when you get an itch, it's a test from your brain to see if you are awake. You are just giving in and preventing yourself from WILDing (I assume) by moving to scratch it. You have to resist it and it will pass when your brain comes to the conclusion that you are asleep.
Willing to talk about/listen to anything you have to say.

sometimes an itch is just an itch erik.
might be good to have a scratch if you're only 1/2 way to SP.

Thank you. It makes me wonder how long it took the poster of that thread to have an LD or an OBE or whatever...

      Meditation/self control > itches

They will always go away even if they're legit. Moving is bad. Stop.

Well I tried a wild for a 2nd time this morning after about 4 1/2 hours sleep.
I kept getting this an intense itching on the tip of my nose.
If I even moved slightly it would go away.
So I just waited through it. Didn't take very long for it to go. Next thing I know
I felt the hot fuzzy feeling rise from my feet to my head. And some noises in my ears.
That was sleep paralysis kicking in right. Unfortunately just feel asleep after that (restless night). I think I must've went into a non-lucid, and didn't remember it on waking up.

Anyhow, I think the itching thing is two different things.

If you have a real itch and you've just started meditating, maybe its best to have a good scratch and remove the distraction.

If you have the imaginary SP Test itch, you need to leave it well enough alone.

If you can't tell the difference, then just leave alone.

I would say that when I got the nose itch, and moved, it came back quite quickly, so didn't set me back that far.
