This is a tutorial on how to induce, influence, and guide someones dreams. This can be done with simple effort and belief, along with proper knowledge.
Before You Begin Preparations
remember to choose your subject wisely, for only those you know well will give you the best results.
remove all distractions, including lights and discomfort(creases in the blankets, tight clothes,
foreign objects like lighters, remotes, etc.) Make sure the subject is comfortable and agrees with the feeling of being
stationary and relaxed.
Tell the subject a few things before hand, like NOT TO ITCH or MOVE!(Itching at the very beginning of this experiment is alright)
Moving AT ALL will wake the body up, thus forcing you to start over
(Breathing and Eye movement doesnt affect the study).
Develop a form of communication, such as "Lifting a finger for yes" type of deal so the subject doesnt have to speak.
Some will fight saying that you cannot enter sleep paralysis and lift the finger, but its been done in my own personal experience....Twice.
Also, both times i've induced dreams i've used Binaural music, the exact copy of the music I used with results can be found under the title "Binaural Beats and Affirmations Relax Your Mind Today!" on YouTube.
if you are going to use the music, make sure it's at a relaxing volume, loud enough to hear but low enough for the subject to hear your voice apparently.
Step 1:
Begin by guiding the subject through 8 major points of their body as you allow them to relax. The method I use is very closely related to Laberges', moving from the head to the lower body.
The experienced method was used like this, but you can paraphrase the actual sentence to best fit your vocabulary and the subject involved.
A.Begin speaking to the subject, as follows:
"Take a deep breath and stress the muscles in your face and head, becoming aware of this center of attention"
NOTE: You dont actually have to have the subject physically move, but the thought of moving each section will focus the mind on this area(although physically straining the muscles produces an actual relaxing sensation). This technique uses the sensation of being relaxed to induce the dream, when the subject concentrates on one specific section of the body, the brain is putting forth more attention on this part, thus "activating the center". In the mind, if you concentrate on your major sections of each center,(between the eyebrows, cheeks and jawlines) you take more time to focus, producing more attention for this area.
With the same procedure for each point, here are the 8 points of Major Concentration for this method.
1. Head/Face(already covered)
2. Neck/Shoulders
3. Arms
4. Chest
5. Stomach
6. Butt/Thighs
7. Calves
8. Feet
When the subject has moved from each section (breathing in, stressing the section, breathing out while relaxing) then allow them one more time to breathe in slowly, and breathe out slowly relaxing the entire body.
Step 2:
Begin step 2 once you've realized the subject is considerably relaxed, normally about 10 minutes after the first step has begun. Keep reminding the subject to remain calm and relaxed, to invite any warming or tingling sensations into their awareness but not to become to involved, for they will either lose conciousness or remain awake.
Once you're fairly confident the subject is close to falling asleep(not actually asleep), then begin step 2.
Step 2 is based off the use of triggerwords and dreamsigns, which is why you should have a really good relationship
with the subject, knowing in mind their feelings and emotions on certain views..this is the best way, instead of hypnotists tryin to be too broad.
A.Try to use things that you know they care about or are interested in:
example of something to say: mention loved ones(works best with the deceased ones, obviously), almost anything that they have somewhat of an interest in, noticing that things the subject loves or cares about are the best trigger words..If you've been around to hear examples of the others dreams, remember to incorporate these signs into your spoken word. Have they had dreams about flying before? Try to bring up dreams and events you are fairly certain they've experienced before.
example of things NOT to say:
"think of a place you like to be", words like "that place" or indefinite articles. It's best to use more proper nouns, words that relate to the subject.
you may be sitting there with your subject just gazing at them as they drift off to sleep, contemplating your progress.
There are several hints to let you know that this is working:
1. Twitching (Any kinds of physical jerking)
2. Mumbling (Doesnt have to be made out, usually any kind of vocal stress)
3. Tossing and Turning (Signifies they are either in deep sleep, or awake and trying to get comfortable. You can usually decide just by looking at their face, the look of relaxation will clearly show they are sleep, while the stressed muscles in the face/ look of discomfort will show they are still aware)..Besides, if you know this person as well as you should before you even start, you should be able to tell if they are asleep.
4. Rugged Breathing (Slow and steady when asleep, unless dreaming. Rugged usually when they are losing conciousness)
Once the twitching or mumbling stage occurs, this is the best chance to influence what is happening, moving on to step 3.
Step 3:
After you are confident that the subject is drifting off, continue to speak directly to them, using more direct triggerwords, heightening the intensity of their effects.
After several minutes of spoken word containing triggerwords and dreamsigns, you should notice more occurances of twitching or slurred mumbles, this is when you influence the subject.
A. What would they want to do?
Quietly let them know they are dreaming, not too quiet or they wont hear you, not too loud or you'll wake them up.
Let them know..."_______, you are dreaming.Dont become excited at this accomplishment, for you will wake up..take a look around, are you still awake?..If you're still awake, just sit up and end your trials because obviously this hasnt worked."...
one of 2 things will happen at this point,(OBVIOUSLY.)
1. They WILL get up, because you were right- they were awake.
2. They wont budge, notifying you that you have succeeded in inducing lucidityIf 1 occurs, just stop.
If 2 occurs, continue the method.
I tend to use a communications system like the one stated earlier, something quite simple when the subject is in the dreamstate. In my experience, I used the finger technique developed before the subject starts Step 1.
Ask them to lift the index finger for yes, and to keep it still for no. (Trust me...it's worked)
Believe it or not, unconcious or concious, the finger will get every question right, as long as its something the person would know if they were awake..You can't proceed asking them for answers to tomorrows Spanish Test.
Once you've developed this state of communication, begin asking them questions like these examples:
"Are you awake?","What do you see....Black?"
"Are you dreaming?","Are you here with me?", "Do you see _____?"
remember, use trigger words whenever possible. DO NOT USE INDEFINITE ARTICLES!!!
NO "That Place, That Thing"
BE SPECIFIC.
When this experiment has worked, there will be no doubt in your mind that should make you think otherwise.
When i tried this experiment on my girlfriend, I used triggerwords like recently deceased relatives names, with such results are bloodshot eyes and/or crying when awakened.
the rest of the method is up for your own will.
whatever you want to induce, whatever experiences you would like to share, it's all limited by the capabilities of the mind. Believing is half the battle, the rest is up to you.
Become your subjects gatekeeper, guiding them into the dream, basically influencing everything that happens in their dreams!!!
I hope this helped, or in many cases, I hope this was a very fun experience!
Thanks for reading!

It seems like you are inducing a hypnotic state of some sort which is comparable to dreaming/sleep.
For one, it is extremely unusual to start dreaming the moment after you initially fall asleep, unless you're polyphasic. Secondly, due to sleep paralysis, you should not be able to respond by movement other than with your eyeballs, as laberge has demonstrated.
