      Question VILD without LD?

So last night i decided to try VILD. I'm sort of an artist so visualizing things comes a little easier to me than others so i tried it. So i started VILDing and everything was working perfectly. I could see and feel everything like it was real and i could feel myself slipping away from waking life. The next thing i know, i woke up and remembered a very detailed dream which was wat i was visualizing. The only problem is that i never became lucid. It was like a visualy induced normal dream. Any help is appreciated as to y this happened.

Keep practicing. If you can visualize well you should be able to walk right into your dream quickly.

In any WILD variation you're supposed to enter the dream lucidly. You must have fallen asleep. Remind yourself over and over again while visualizing that everything isn't real.
