      Brainwave generator keeps me awake

On Friday night I tried VILDing, and despite not being very good at visualising, I felt like I almost got somewhere - I felt the wave of sleep paralysis and it felt like something was about to happen...And then nextdoor's FRIGGIN CAT jumped onto the verandah and started meowing and that was the end of that. (Where's the smiley of a cat being murdered when you need it??)

I can't try VILDing every night because it takes too long and I need to sleep, so I've tried Brainwave Generator for the past couple of nights, using the tutorial on this site. It does tend to make me drowsy as the frequency decreases to 3hz but it seems that the sound keeps jolting me awake every so often. Anyone else experienced this when using BWGen? Anyone know what I can alter so it doesn't keep me awake? Is it safe to go below 3hz maybe?

I'm using the one from BWgen.com; I created a preset using the tutorial here:
