      Talking I Did It!!!

I had a lucid dream last night! My first one, too! I'm not sure what initiated it though... I got up at 5, and read an encyclopedia for 15 minutes, then went to sleep.
I was in my house, and I was just walking around when I got a call from Mike (my boss) asking if Todd was there. I said no, then realized, "This is a dream!" I did a reality test by distorting a corner of my room. I stared at it intensely until it started to morph! I tried to spawn a person on my couch, but to no avail. I was still happy though. Shouting in triumph, a stormed up stairs and out the door.I walked to my friend Brendan's house. On the way there, I decided to make looked at my hands. "AAAAAAH!" I screamed upon realization that I only had 4 fingers on my left hand. Then I remembered I was dreaming. When I got to Brendan's, my friend Aaron attacked my with a chainsaw, and I woke up.
Does anyone know how I became lucid, and how I can do it again? It was so amazing how vivid and how accomplished I felt.

Yes indeed you became lucid when you realized that you had 4 fingers, looking at your hands in dreams is almost always a good way to realize that you're dreaming. That's what i did last night i looked at my hands and my two of my fingers on my right hand were bent in an awkward way. And to get lucid again just remember that the last thing that you did before you started dreaming was to get in your bed and close your eyes, so, if you're not in your bed sleeping then most likely you're dreaming. Sometimes though i have dreams of me laying in my bed and my room looked exactly the same. I hope you have many more lucids, they're fun.

You'll only become lucid if you have the middle finger...... Kidding.....

Assuming from what you wrote that you have not try anything else such as Reality Check in the morning or MILD technique. I would said that you stumble into the (WBTB) Wake Back to Bed Method. Look for it the tutorial at the beginning on the homepage. My little trick is to drink half a can of coke or pepsi during the during that 15-30 minutes before I go back to bed. The caffeine somehow add enough juice to help my brain stay awake while my physical body fall back into sleep. This is the way to get to the edge of lucidity...mind awake while physical body go to sleep...bam...Lucid dream. REM sleep happens the most and last the longest in the early part of the morning. So it's easier and more efficient to try what you have tried.
      Hope that help,
      Nightflyer
