WILD Attempt - PLZ Comment :)

I really appriciate if you guys can evaluate this night for me as I don’t really know what was supposed to happen. I mean I know theoretically but I understood that actually trying is different.

I went to bed at about 1.15 a.m and set the alarm to 4.30. Put my sleepmask on (first time). I was lying on my back, trying to relax. I let my head wander, in the meantime saying “ I am dreaming”. Then HI began. But this time I noticed something completely different. Before I involved in this forum, I was always like “ Wha!? What ? What did I just see/hear ?” during HI stage. But this time, I don’t know if it is because my brain was active during that stage or something else, I was able to identify each image and sound perfectly and consciously. I saw/hear like 20 of them. Around 15 were about Smallville which I didn’t surprise since I had been watching ten episodes a day (finally I watched the last aired episode yesterday). I was completely relaxed. But images didn’t become clear. I felt the shift once or twice but they were not strong because I was not so sleepy. Then I change my position to my normal sleeping one and wait for sleep.

Here comes the weird part. You can say it is normal but it is not for me. I woke up from a dream that I could hardly remember but the last seconds. I was surprised and pissed off because the alarm was off, the time was 5.30 and sleepmask was gone,( lying beside the bed). Well I’ve heard many times that this could happen but never in my life had I exprienced such thing. I mean I can always hear the alarm and wake, let alone hearing it and turning it off. And the last image of my dream was a photo of my friend in pink PJs and pink sleepmask?!. There was a note on it, “finding my avatar”. I put back my sleepmask then run the same process.

In my dream I went to bed. As soon as I shut my eyes, I felt that I was awake in the reality. Oddly, as soon as I realized I woke up, strong SP began with the vibrations. But it was strange like I was in-between dream and reality. When the vibrations became too powerful I tried to stand up and succeeded. I was floating. What I felt the most were my hands. I was touching the wall. I couldn’t see anything at first but like the shadowy figures of my hands. Then I started to see around which made me realize that I was not in my room, I was in the dream world. I walked through a wall and passed to a garden. There were flowers. First the vividness was not very satisfying. Then I adjusted it. It became more and more clear until it was perfect with all the colors. But strangley I didn’t do anything. I just walked through some area. The LD lasted for like 25 seconds.

Then I woke up, which again triggered the SP and same vibrations. I did what I had done in the previous SP and suddenly found myself in the same room but this time I was in the middle of a lecture given by a teacher of mine from my former university. He was angry and his voice was so clear. What was I doing? I was pairing off the socks from a bag which was full of sand. I knew I was dreaming but I think I missed my school. Maybe thats way I didn’t do anything. I woke up at 7.30.

I have some conclusions and questions. First of all, LDing is very easy for me. I don't have to do extra for it to happen. But I thought that WILD is a more effective way of doing it. I'm not sure if I WILDed or not but the two dreams I had was very vivid and my memory was perfect unlike my previous LDs. I am also very happy that I had two SP in one night. It really helps LDing. Now the questions

      Did I WILD ?

Is it a plecebo effect that I dreamed so vivid and succeeded in remembering (SP also) or "I'm dreaming.." and concentration really worked ?

Why couldn't I remember taking the mask off and turning the alarm off ?

      What are your suggestions ?

Well, I'm a little confused. This part seems to be the important part of your post:

I put back my sleepmask then run the same process.

You put on your sleep mask, tried to WILD again, just fell asleep, had a dream that you were going to sleep, had a false awakening, woke up in SP, and WILDed through that?

Well, if you woke up and were still in SP, and went straight into a lucid dream without losing consciousness, then that was a DEILD, a 'type' of WILD Good job

Ok, got it Thank you I think I will not be satisfied until I do WILD. But is so hard. Staying awake, relaxing and at the same time trying not to lose consciousness, visualising ... I wish I had a pill that does it for me

Well, this IS a WILD, so you have accomplished your goals If you're talking from just starting out to go to sleep, well, I'd forget about that. It's recommended that you get at least some sleep before attempting a WILD, for better REM periods ("earlier, shorter REM periods means shorter, crappier dreams") and to make it easier to fall asleep in the first place. So whether or not you DEILD from having just woken up, or if you WBTB and WILD, those are the preferred and recommended methods. It's not impossible to WILD from the start, it can be done, but it's sort of inefficient and a relative waste, if you can WILD later on and catch those better dreams.

So good to hear that you said it is WILD I agree with you about starting out to go to sleep, it is impossible, at least for me. I also want to do it with fast grab, clairity's WILD or techniques like those. Because if I can do with these methods, I think I will be more in control and dreams might last long, because they were short. I guess I'm greedy But after last night, it is impossible not to be greedy. I've had my longest and vivid dream(ate an apple before bed, maybe thats why). I felt like it lasted for nearly a day(non-lucid). An LD like that might be perfect

A great lucid dream, pfff. That's not greedy to want, lucid dreaming is amazing. Definitely try to WILD some more, it seems like you are particularly attracted to the sorts that use visualization, so check out things like the VILD tutorials. Most of the "wild" type tutorials that people write are just VILD derivatives, you really can't go wrong

Thank you Yeah I like visualization but I must admit, LD through SP is much more easier. Anyway, as I've been DILDing for 10 years, it is time for a change I'll try more WILD as you said and at the same time looking for a way to extend the time and add more vividness. So far apple is working for me (I tried it last night. But maybe it didn't have anything to do with the dream)

Ah, I rarely get into SP Just so you know, if you are going through SP and entering a lucid dream, that is also a WILD
I am a HUGE fan of apples for dream vividness

So apples work for you too, nice I also suggest alcohol (not too much, 2 beer max) for activating subconscience. That works for me %100 and they are more vivid than the usuals.

I doubt that 2 beer affect your consciousness For me it doesn't. But I didn't mention it for LD. I just say it might help vividness. Try it By the way, how do you WILD ? I think anyone who has WILDed above 10 is an expert

Yea, Ive heard that some people like drinking alcohol for the effects... I hate the taste though, I rarely drink and apple juice is just so much easier... hahaha

And I am definitely not the authority on WILD. I know the theoretical knowledge and etc., but I dont have the actual experience and skill
