The PROPER way to do a Reality Check.

Can someone clarify please? I think it'd be good for a lot of people who are just merely looking at their hands and counting their fingers and considering that as a Reality Check (like I used to do when I started)

I do not know if what I do is a decent way to Reality Check, but I will give you an instance in which I usually Reality check.

I usually reality check just at random times throughout the day. Mostly areas that I dream frequently about, but I do not limit them to those specific areas. If i see something bizarre or just not out of the ordinary happen, I reality check. When I reality check, I ask myself "Am I dreaming?" and I take everything in. Details, textures, smells, etc. I look at my fingers and count them, breathe through a closed nose, and then once I am convinced I am awake, I ask myself "If I'm not dreaming now, what would I do if I WERE dreaming?"

I hope this is a decent way to reality check! can anyone help me out here? I want to make sure I'm doing it correctly.

      Yes that´s the right way.

I used to do RC´s by just looking at a clock but now I sincerly ask myself the question "Am I dreaming?" I try to awnser the question as unbiased as possible. Everytime I see/hear something even slightly out of usual I do a RC. I do RC's at random times aswell but I always try to genuinly wonder if it's a dream, not just merely looking at a clock or counting your fingers.
They say that dreams are only real as long as they last. Couldn't you say the same thing about life?
