A false awakening is when you wake up in the place you fell asleep except you are in a dream.

Example, you wake up in your bed, but you are in a dream. Since you wake up in your bed you don't realize that you are dreaming. Because of this you can either go Lucid right off the bat, or you may not become lucid and just go on about a normal dream.

Two ways really stick out for me:

      1) If I have to get up earlier than normal, I will often wake up even earlier than that and intermittently check my watch. But sometimes, I don't check my watch in real life, I check it in a dream. This will only work if you really do have to get up. You have to believe it.

      2) This one is easier to set up. Make yourself have to pee. I can't tell you how many early morning false awakenings I've had of just going to the washroom. But it only tends to happen when I really have to pee. So drink a glass of water before bed.

I wonder... you know how in the morning (atleast for me, I use autosuggestion every night) you wake up after dreams and just lay there, half-awake and half-asleep, slowly drifting in and out of consciousness? I was thinking, there is a good chance that some of those moments could be false awakenings. No matter how tired I am tomorrow morning, I am going to force myself to do an RC and see if this is really true - if so, it could be a 100% way to have a lucid dream every morning
