got rid of nightmares in strange way? help?

when i was young i had many nightmares about a man in a black robe and hood that was trying to kill me, you couldnt see his face, but only his hands which had long demonish nails, one dream i had, the last in fact, he cornered me, i lookedover and there was a table, i looked back at him, he was walking towards me, i looked back at the table and there was a pistol on it, i got it and said "its over" and i shot him and immediatly i woke up, i havent had a dream about him since

That happens. It's interesting, really. People's dreams may have more connections than we expect. I frequently dream about being in my house. My living room. Once, in a lucid, I went on a rampage (was fun ) and tore up the house. Haven't seen it since. Then, in another lucid, I hired a crew to repair it, now I dream about it again, and use it as a dream sign.

It is always a relief when you finally fight back against the villan(s) in your dreams. I like to face my fears in lucid dreams, too.

I think I replied to your first post about this

Any thing that happens ( i.e the man in the black robe ) that terminates an object or a place can be like a form of closure. If your brain knows the person is dead, you don't have to dream about it anymore.

By the way, my grandfather has terrible nightmares every night. He doesn't want to control, just stop having them.

The other night, he had a dream where some kind of animal cut his arm. It swelled up and popped, and worms started gushing out of it.
