      Crazy Dreams, No Lucid.

      I'm always having these crazy dreams ( once I dreamt my dad was a chicken )...so I guess I'm just used to them by now, but that makes it extremely hard to 'wake up'. Most of the time when I'm in a dream, I just accept whats going on and go with it. No questions asked.
      How do I get out of this?!? Help!

      Since dreams symbolize what you experience during waking life, maybe you must try to not get to caught up into situations and feelings during the day... try to get back to the moment and question reality even if you sit in a buisness meeting. Watch for dreamsign in your dream journal (assume you have one ) and do RC whenever you come over them in waking life, and then they will show up in dreams.

      In addition to what Jammy suggested, make sure you are getting enough sleep, as it is much easier to become aware in your dreams and remember your dreams if you are well rested.

      Since it can take a lot of time and effort to get control of ones dreams or become aware during the dream state, concentrate on and reward yourself for what you are able to do well, such as remembering your dreams, in order to stay positive and keep from getting bummed out by the amount of effort required to accomplish the feat of being aware in your dreams.

      All of that sounded about right. Just about the only thing I can do lately is write down normal dreams in my dream journal ( yes, I have one ). I can't really say anything because I got home at 12 last night, and up at 5 so...no dreams. I'll keep trying though. Thanks!

      The longer you sleep, the longer your dream periods (REM) become, so make sure to get plenty of sleep!

      I normally do! I went to our school's football game, I confess! Then there was the 3k run at 6:15 this morning...whew! I'm wiped! I'm going to sleep late tomorrow...no, wait, I gotta go to church tomorrow! Well...maybe next weekend I'll sleep in... *sigh*

      If you have the time, an afternoon nap can be a great time to catch up on sleep and maybe even trigger a lucid dream or OBE. And as far as remembering dreams goes, the more dreams you can remember, the greater your chances of becoming lucid, as developing a keen dream memory recall can help to becoming more aware within the dreams themself, making remembering a lot of dreams a good step in the right direction to becoming lucid in ones dreams. Keeping up the dream journal and competing with yourself to see how many dreams you can recall each month is a good way to progress toward becoming lucid.
