The Ring Method for Focus and Movement

This is a very effective way to develop a focus quickly (eliminating other thoughts), creating visual movement, and moving towards yout pre-set goal.
This may be taking you to imagery to then go to a LD, or just fading away your thoughts, developing your imagery skills, or to use during LD Inductions such as WILDs, MILDs for eg.
      It is fun to do.

And Shift this is not an induction method of LDs.

      Ok the method:
      - Lay down in bed, shut your eyes and relax your body. Now after you are settled and body and eyes relaxed, you just see black normally.
      - Imagine a glowing or fiery ring in the distance (about 10 feet away), and it is coming towards you. Each breath in it comes toward you further and further.
      - After about 2 breaths imagine another ring behind it and so on for each 2 breaths.(You can make it longer or shorter if you like depending on your breath length/speed).
      - Just keep them coming, starting to form a ring tunnel ok.
      - Soon enough the first and following rings are consecutively getting bigger and bigger. As the first ring comes very near to you let it pass around you with your next inhale.
      - Continue each ring passing around/past you each breath in (or around 2 seconds). This then progresses on and on.
      - Note: Once the first ring has passed you, there is no need to concentrate on creating new rings, as this will happen automatically and the tunnel is formed already at this point.

      - At this point see the rings not coming to you - but You moving Forward through the Rings.

Once done it is almost auto-pilot and quite relaxing.
It normally leads me to my pre-set visualised image or place. What happens to you is up to you.
For those who have trouble with imagery, try one ring at a time appearing and no new ring until the first has passed you. Progress to more as you feel comfortable.
All I ask is you try this method, as my focus and aquirng my destination imagery have gotten better and faster 10 fold.

      Enjoy.

(don't worry, it doesn't say "Always, 100%, or -ILD" anywhere

Sounds like fun. I'm gonna try it. I love visualization, it's so fun. Just reading this I had rings of fire zooming past me.

This is very similar to third eye meditation, atleast, that's what happens to me automatically when I do it. So yeah, this works for me. How did you come up with the ring idea?

I like this visualization. I can see it working for me, especially with some imagined movement. I'm guessing you can make it feel like you are flying through the ring tunnel? I'll try it out next time I meditate or WILD.

I really was afraid the technique would involve visualizing a TV set with static, and a creepy girl with long hair coming out from it.

The following SP in a WILD would have been interesting, I'm sure
      Dec. 2006 - July 2007:
      92 DILDs + 30 WILDs ; 75% too short, 24% decent, ~3 of 2 to 5 minutes
      (I stopped counting after that)
