I finished reading the book "Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming" by Stephen LaBerge a few months ago but I looked back on something.
There's a section that is suppose to improve your mnemonic memory (remembering without external reminders or memos) but it's designed so that it involves helping you become lucid. It's suppose to be for the MILD technique but ever since I started the exercises, I almost had a lucid dream that very night, and I had like 5 in one week while doing the exercises (3 DILD, 2 WILD) and took a 5 day break and got nothing.
I just started again and already had 2 DILD lucid dreams and one of them was long and pretty vivid on the same night and almost had one last night.
The exercise involves doing a reality check everytime you experience something (seeing a bird for example) for a specific day and there are 4 things per day.
example, Friday: Next time I...
-See a bird
-Use bathroom afternoon
-Open a door
-See a star
and do a reality check.
I definetly recommend it to everyone because it really helped me with DILD even though it is suppose to help with MILD. Which ever works best for you I guess.
