W00t!!! first "kinda" lucid!!! and... help plz

well after about 1 year and a half to two years of failed attempts at having have a lucid dream. I kinda had one today and i have to thank Jeff777's "How to trick your body into falling asleep". Thank you JEFF
Anyways back to topic, Why did i say kinda? Cause this is what happen

i cant remember the whole dream. But i do remember realizing that i was dreaming because something didn't seem real. So i tested it out by looking at the date of the clock (which for some reason only had the date) and then closing my eyes and saying that it was march 31 instead of
the 30th. So i did that and looked at my watch and it read march 3. I was like wtf? i wanted march 31 not the 3rd, so i told myself i was definitely gonna ask about this on the forum (lol).
Anyways, so i knew i was dreaming now. It was dark out and i wanted to go somewhere else. I remembered reading the spinning in place can help change scenery, so i went out to to the street i guess, or i was already on the street and i closed my eyes and started spinning to try and go somewhere else. It wasn't working. So i started thinking again or a beach and started
spinning, and i finally changed the scene but i did not end up at the beach. I ended up somewhere else. I also cant remember where i ended up but i woke up soon after.

So although i did know i was dreaming, and I somewhat controlled what i wanted to do. It didn't actually work. I tried to change the time and it changed to something that i didn't want it to. I tried to change the scenery and it changed to something i didn't want to.
So where did i go wrong? Why didn't things change the way i wanted them to? Not enough practice?

You definitely just need more practice. Also when you were trying to change the scenery, did you really believe it would work? Anything you want to happen in a dream all relies on weather or not you believe you can do it. If you really think you cant, you wont. Also more practice will help with this hopefully now you'll see where you've been going wrong and have more lucid's

congrats it seems like a lucid dream to me, you definitely knew that you were dreaming. but did you know for certain? without a doubt? thats the difference. you might not have grounded yourself in the dream enough. you should do more reality checks. what i do is i shut my mouth and plug my nose and try to breathe. if i can, then im in a dream. and i always ask myself aloud if i am dreaming, and then after the test i say that i am dreaming. this really helps with getting more complete control because you know for a fact you are dreaming. good luck.

Most of us donīt have a very good controll in our first lucids. More lucids, more control.
