This looks interesting... Anyone experiemented with this substance?

Yes, I've experimented with both the extract and the leaf and it definatly works, however i recommend getting hold of the extract if at all possible. The reasons for this are a) smoking / drinking the leaf is absolutly disgusting. The smoking isn't too bad but not pleasant and as for the drink. Let's just say I'd rather drink my own diareah than drink another cup of that tea, it is the foulest thing known to man. With the extract you can just put it into some empty capsules and swallow it, plus you need less of it to have an effect. And when it does work (it worked only 2 out of every 4 nights for me) you will damn well know about it. You'll need good dream recall to start with but the results are fantastic, even if it doesn't make you lucid (it only made me lucid once but did so in a spectacular way) the dreams are massivly intricate and detailed and there's something very unique about them, an element that is uniquely Calea's. It's a very interesting substance, get hold of some of the extract and experiment

The tea does taste pretty awful at first, but now I can down a whole cup and could care less about the taste.

Other than that, everything else is good - smoking it tastes good, the following day or two after taking some you're in a better mood and during the 'high' of it, you feel very relaxed and mellow without any drug effects. Your dreams are much more vivid and much, much easier to recall - I'd say about 10x better than 100mg of B6. The dreams also seem less forced like those from a B6.

As far as growing, it's a hard plant to get out from a seedling stage and takes lots of care without getting a whole lot of yeild. Just buy the stuff.

If you want to drink it as a tea, do not use an infuser. If you want to get the most out of it, get some water (as much as you're willing to drink) and sorta grind up the Calea in your hands and put it and in a pot with the water and boil it for 7-10 mins (5 mins if you're impatient). It will taste really, really bitter the first 3 or so times so if you can't suck it up and just drink it & chase it with something (orange juice works well), then squirt some honey into your mouth and then take a shot of the tea. Don't mix honey in with it or else it'll just taste really bitter and really sweet.

And the strange thing is, i have no problem drinking that tea. I add spoonfull of honey, flavoured green tea and let it steep long. Guess ive gotten used to the taste, but its not such an issue for me drinking it. Smoking it is different though, very bitter, not going to try that way anymore.

And about effects. Sometimes it seems that those dreams become ultra vivid, but still i have hard time remembering them. Bit like they were too clear to be recalled or something. But ive once had the most dreamfull night with it also. In it i was visiting my friend, there i did lots of stuff, and went sleeping many times, and while i slept within a dream, i dreamed. So in overall it seemed like whole night lasting dream with perfect continuity. Too bad i just didnt come lucid.

Ive also heard it has high habituation curve, so it might be good trying it only once a week or so.

If you can drink tea made from real calea zacatechichi, then you are a better man than I. I'm not sure if you've ever had the pleasant experience of vomiting up stomach acid, but the taste is similar to that, only about 10x worse.

Hih, yeah ive had my share of hungovers. I just find it weird that everyone else sayes it to be so horrible while i can pretty easily just gulp it down.

I think ill have a cup of it right now.

EDIT at morning: Indeed i did get vividiest dreams that ive had in a while. No lucidity though, but im more than satisfied to results. Those dreams were more realistic than usually, or then it just seemed like so because of the great degree of vividness. Also remember experiencing some profound dreams earlier in the night, but even though the sharpness was stronger than usually, im no longer able to recall those. I saw my first dream rainbow as far as i can remember also!

Thanks for the replies guys... I think ill get the leaves and make some tea and smoke some of it the first time i try it, once i get my hands on some.

I think I might ask my mom to buy me some... Kinda risky but she already knows i smoke bud, and its legal so I hope she says yes!

Ill be like mom, buy me a couple ounces of this shit for x-mas and she what she says... Ill report back and tell you if she flips, or says hell no, or buys it...

From what I've read, calea is a minor hallucinogen, which is why it would promote dreams well.

Sort of like taking a small dose (<0.5g) of mushrooms before going to bed, which I have found to be very effective.

However, as I think someone mentioned above, hallucinogens become tolerated very quickly, so once a week or so is probably best.
