      Pins and needles

First time trying WILD, went to sleep, woke up at around 3A
M, got up for a few minutes, lay down and closed my eyes while reciting a mantra. after around 10 minutes of that, I began to loose feeling of the bed and then I got sudden pins and needles in all of my body (not regular pins and needles, it was not irritating and there was no pain), is this part of WILDing? If so, what comes after that?

      Thanks.

I think it is. I mean it's not like you have pins and needles on your mattress I haven't had a successful WILD yet, but, I think you might some audio or visual hallucinations, feel like you've fallen out of your bed, etc..... It changes from person to person so what one person experiences will not be the same for others. Forgot to mention that you could feel vibrations

      Sounds like it to me.

From my experience, shortly after this you would appear in your dream (if you were able to remain conscious during the transition phase).

The pins and needles you are feeling, along with the loose feeling of your bed, is all a hallucination. This is when your mind is in a hypnagogic(sp? Falling asleep) state.

This isn't anything to worry about, and it means that your mind is trying to figure out whats a dream and whats reality. All I can really say is that you shouldn't be afraid of it, because that can make thing worse.

I believe Shift wrote something about not really needing to go into Sleep Paralysis to do a WILD.

Also, if you are WILDing there is the chance that you will end up in sleep paralysis, but this is by no means necessary to WILD or ever going to happen to you, let alone to WILD. Lots of people like to talk about SP though they actually don't know what it is, so there's a lot of confusion about it. But no, SP is not needed for anything at all- sleep, life, or lucid dreaming

I'm not sure how to WILD without it. I can DEILD without SP though. Okay and at the OP: Hallucinations or your whole body was asleep.

also, when in sleep paralysis can you think to yourself, or do you just have to lye there and wait for it to pass?
