      Help with MILD

Okay, well, originally I wanted to use WILD to induce lucid dreams, however, with six months of not even getting into SP, i've decided to change tracks a bit. I've decided to give MILD a try, however i do have a couple questions about it.
      1. For WILD, it was almost always necessary to use WBTB in order for it to work. Is this necessary for MILD? I'd like to know because there are many times when it is difficult for me to use WBTB for the 30-60 minutes suggested because of school. I know that WBTB helps a lot, but could I MILD without it?
      2. How much easier is MILD then WILD?
      3. The few times times that MILD has (randomly) worked for me, I lost my lucidity almost instantly. It wasn't that the dream faded, it's just that as soon as I realized it was a dream, I thought "yay! i'm lucid" but then promptly went back to 'dream mode' where I wasn't lucid at all. Any solutions?

I know this is a lot, I'm just a little confused (and frustrated!), especially since MILD is so different than WILD, and now I basically have to start from square one. If anyone could help I would greatly appreciate it!

      1. WBTB is going to help a lot, or at least spending a few moments conscious when you wake up naturally to remind yourself to remember to remember to reality check. Really though your biggest efforts with MILD are going to be put in during the day training your prospective memory.
      2. It's impossible to say. Some people find certain techniques easy, some hard. MILD requires a different type of dedication than WILD, but you can't really compare the two.
      3. Stabilize!

I designed the Daily Dreamsign to help with the MILD technique. I found it helped me immensely, and the original thread had a lot of people following along and being successful.

      Thanks for the advice!
I never really bothered to look at the stabalize tutorial. I always thought it was only for when your dreams started to fade, but now I'm glad I read it.
Your Daily Dreamsign seems really interesting. I remember doing something similar a few months ago, and that was when my MILDs first started working. I guess I just gave up too quickly.
Another question that I have is whether or not I should keep up my dream journal. I already have really good dream recall (I can usually remember up to three or four dreams a night), so I kind of stopped using it. Are there other reasons other than increased recall that would make keeping a DJ beneficial?

Again, thanks for the advice. I'm getting started on it all today!

      Sure thing!

I've always found that combining as many DILD related techniques gets me the most lucids. If I stop keeping my DJ, I usually stop lucid dreaming. I don't ever actually use dreamsigns, though I usually keep a DJ. But combining MILD, raising awareness, and RCing usually will do the trick. If your recall stays up, really you don't have to keep one.
