      Issues with falling asleep

I've had a lot of issues with falling asleep in a WBTB.

First of all I should explain how I've been trying to lucid dream. I wake up from my alarm clock during a REM cycle and get up for a few minutes. Then I try to day dream a scene and passively let my subconscious mind add things to it until I fall asleep.

Unfortunatley, I only wake up later to realize that I had a dream in the scene I created, but I had lost consciousness. I figured that this was happening because I was not awake enough, but if i stay up longer then I cannot fall asleep for several hours.

      Any advice would be appreciated.

i have the same issue sometimes... if i stay up for too long i can't get back to sleep - so i started working on DEILD, which was better. i would recommend using FILD or something else to keep your mind awake - either way, you don't really have to get out of bed and wake yourself up to enter a lucid... hope this answers your question.
