      Late Night WILD???

WILDs are supposed to be performed after like 6 hours of sleep I know... But there are times I stay up till like 4:00 A.M. and I was wondering would it be just as easy to WILD then because I am usually significantly tired and could fall asleep with hardly any effort. Never tried it before but I will tonight and see how it works. Never successfully WILDed before In fact I can't even seem to reach Sleep Dream Paralysis. Any tips on that?????

I have tried staying up late to WILD - it's very easy to pass into sleep that way - but I don't recall ever being successful...it's very easy for your mind to fall asleep as well as your body during these attempts(when you're that tired), and drastically changing your sleeping pattern like this really screws up recollection. I don't think it's worth it.

The reason people say to WILD after hours of sleep is because your REM periods will be longer as you get more sleep.
However, you can dream during NREM sleep. You can have REM-onset sleep, too. You can have REM-rebound. All sorts of things can effect when and how your REM periods are. Not to mention, people always seem to forget that, following the get-x-hours-of-sleep-first program, you need to make sure that you're going straight into REM sleep when you WILD. This can be pretty hard when you have, literally, no idea when your rem sleep is starting and ending without the use of some sort of machine. So, do as you see fit and just find what works for you.

Also, regarding SP: There are a number of ways to WILD, most of which do not involve sleep paralysis. Most people get the impression from the forums that SP is something absolutely necessary, but this is not true.

WILD: anything that keeps your mind awake while your body falls asleep- including mental tasks and counting- no sp involved
      VILD: no sp involved
      HIT: no sp involved
Twin Bodies/One Body: focus on SP
DEILD (uses any WILD technique right away when you wake up from a dream
