Thread: Problems with RTs

I can't been rely on RTs. A few days ago I dreamt I was in with Torri Spelling (just hangin' out.. ) anyways I realized I don't know her, why am I here with her. We were watching TV so I pressed the display button to see what time it was, it was 4:27, I looked away and looked back, it was still 4:27. So I thought it wasn't a dream, but I was still sure I was not supposed to be hanging out with her. I guess you can count my doubts as a brief moment of lucidity, but I still ended up not becoming lucid.
From what I've read the time shouldn't have even been legible, and even if it was supposed to it would have changed when I looked away. I've only attained lucidity with a RT once, actually it was the first time I became lucid. Since then I've tried and no luck, when I do become lucid, it's spontaneous.
One time I did have the chance but I fucked it up. I woke up, went to the bathroom, and the lights wouldn't turn on... then I woke up again kind our weirded out, I went to the bathroom and the freakin' lights worked. I couldn't believe I missed the chance.
Anybody have any tips on this???

i have a tip.. if youre gonna do a RT by looking at a clock and looking away, and then looking back, it helps to expect it to change. like when you first look at it and it says 4 27 or whatever, then look away, expect it to say 12:00 when you look back. then it is more likely to change

About all you can do is practice!
I've kicked myself many times for missing opportunites I should have realized

I think that pushing finger through your palm and expecting it to pass right through may be a better technique, since you can perform it without opening your eyes while you are sleeping

I crafted a "wand of dream control", which dont work during waking hours, but it's supposed to work if i'll have a false awakening

Thanks for the tips. I have yet to try them, I'm still a rookie so I have trouble becoming lucid or even asking myself if I am dreaming. I'll let you know how I do.

I've also got to try the finger thing. I spent a lot of time last night flying through objects like doors, walls, windows. It's kind of fun!

But once last night, just when I thought I was getting good at it, I bounced off the wall instead of going through it. OUCH!

ive been trying the stick your finger through your hand thing lately, after reading about it on here, and it works pretty well

ok what the hell is an RT? I know RC stands for Reality Check, but please someone tell me what RT is...

a dunce is someone in class who is bad or stoopid, so they make them wear a pointy hat and sit on a stool in the corner... they dont really do that anymore, i think it was a fifties thing or something
