      Is it possible I have gained lucidity and just forgot? (theory)

      For the past week I have been doing the WILD technique but to my knowledge have never actually gained lucidity using this technique. I can go into SP. My goal was to gain lucidity and then to wake up a little into it so i can write down my first lucid attempt.

      Anyways, Last night i tried several several times to go lucid through WILDing throughout the night. Several times i remember popping my eyes open and my arms hitting against my side which meant i must have fell asleep. ( i did RCs when i awoke to just to make sure)

      The thing is i woke up in less then 10 minutes than my estimated time of falling asleep. I couldnt remember having a dream or whatever either and i woke up with a cold sweat. could it be possible that i have been gaining lucidity and decided to wake myself up right when i became lucid or shortly after so i could write it down but forgot I ever did it once i awoke?

      I came to this theory because I could not sleep any that night because i kept waking up for some reason which i did not fully understand. My goal after becoming lucid was to wake myself up so i could remember since my dream recall isnt to great.

      what do you think?

      Well, it is possible (and very easy) to forget dreams only seconds after waking up. I do it all the time. However, in my personal opinion, I don't think you are becoming lucid, waking up, then forgetting. When I WILD, I wake up a lot too. I think it is because we put so much effort and intention into it. Often, when you go to bed at night, you can set your intention to waking up at a spacific time in the morning. I think the waking after WILD thing is the similar principle. We are very focused on having a successful WILD, and I'm sure that helps wake us up also.

      It's definitley possible to have a lucid dream, only to forget it on waking. This is part of the reason why it's so important to have good dream recall. Though I don't know if that's what's happening to you.

      If you don't already do so you should start keeping a dream journal, and you might want to try this subliminal recall mp3 (http://www.dreamviews.com/community/...ad.php?t=55276) I find it works well for me; many thanks to Ninja9578 for creating it.

      Thanks. I had started keeping a dream journal because my dream recall wasn't the best. I have only started trying to become lucid with RC checks and trying to WILD and keeping the journal 4-5 days ago and i have already noticed my recall has improved.

      I can remember 3 dreams a night right now. normally only 1 or none before that. This morning i had my first lucid through a false awakening although it was really sloppy. posted about it in lucid general. I will definitely try that dream recall mp3. thanks for it. how many dreams with practice is a good number to remember each night?
