Coincidence? Or Have I Found My Method? (details inside)

I have been doing a little self made experiment with myself.

I took 4 days. 2 days a week and decided to do a WBTB sort of thing.

What it included was me waking up each day between 6-7 a.m.

I would get up, go to the bathroom, smoke a cigarette, and eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast. By then 30 minutes have passed ( i know, I am really slow in the mornings ) .

I would eventually go back to my room, pick Vanilla Sky up off the floor, and go watch it in my sisters room. My sisters room is the only house that has a VHS player lol. So each time, I would watch the full movie, and afterwards lay on this small one person couch and go to sleep. While laying there sleeping I would tell myself I would remember my dreams, and I would remember to do a reality check.

I would fall asleep with in a matter of 5 minutes each time.

Now here is the odd thing.

3 out of the 4 tries, I had Lucid Dreams that including them all starting off with a False Awakening. Not only that, when I had the False Awakening I would wake up each time in the same exact spot I fell asleep in. All 4 dreams took place in my house, 3 of them were Lucid.

My last LD which was monday morning, I woke up like i explained above, and saw my parents pulling into the drive way as I stood in the hall way. I knew they wouldn't like the fact of me being in my sisters room, so I grabbed Vanilla Sky, along with my computer, and headed back into my room. There I noticed some things were different and eventually became Lucid. I really didn't much, and it only lasted a few minutes. I remember dream spinning to try to change the scenery but it didn't work , I just stayed where I was.

I am just wondering if I have somehow convinced my mind to get into a routine? I usually stay up about 3 hours before falling back to sleep and having those Lucid Dreams (instead of the stated 30 minutes).

With me I think I have figured out that it takes about maybe 3 hours for me to hit my firs REM cycle. So even though I wake up, I am keeping all my focus on lucid dreaming and keeping my mind very active. I would go on walks, sit outside and listen to the birds, I event went downtown today to pay off a speeding ticket. I got up at 7:15 got back home about 10:40. I eventually fell asleep about 11:35 and woke up at 11:41 after the Lucid Dream happened. In a strange sense, when I lay down, it's always around the time where I would hit a REM cycle if I would have stayed a sleep (instead of waking up to do WBTB.). It took me only about 3-5 minutes each time to fall asleep and be inside a dream.

      Any thoughts on this?

      Thank You

I don't really have a lot of thoughts or suggestions about this at the moment. Mainly because I'm far from sober. But, 75% success is pretty damn good. I think you should stick to this method every chance you get, and try to see if you can start making the WBTB method work on ordinary nights. Without having to wait 3 hours each time of course.

Did you go straight into lucid dreams each time? Or did you fall asleep and DILD from a reality check or simply figure out you're dreaming?

I pretty much went straight into a LD because of all the false awakenings.
