attaining lucidity without knowing im in a dream?

so i started trying to LDing 5 days ago and i had my first LD today. it was super wierd because i was in a really life like dream and it seemed that out of nowhere my brain told me i was dreaming. i didnt do a RC i didnt notice anything abnormal in the dream world, it seemed like an accident how i jumped into lucidness.... but then i got all pumped up and woke up. so i was wondering if this is normal and why i "accidentally" became lucid.

Yes, it is normal. Most of my lucids happen like this. Your dreams are in your head, so whatever you think about in waking life, can cross into your dreams. I guess what I'm trying to say is, now that you know lucid dreaming is POSSIBLE, there's a much higher chance of you becoming lucid compared to before, even if it's not from an RC.
