For a while now ive been doing goal setting. Something i recently picked up from Stephen Laberges book EWLD. Shocking for me this has made my LD rate blow of into the sky. From a pretty long dry period to aproximently 1 LD per night for over 1 month now this has completly turned the situation around for me. At first i thought it just was coisidence, but as i gradualy reached my goals and made new ones i understand goal setting is the reason. Ive commed to understand that goal setting is a way to push my own limits, and when reached set new ones, little more difficult than the one before. This also boosted my motivation up a notch. Cause now i had spessific dates to concentrate on, to reach a amount of LD, instead of walking about wishing for LD everyday. When the date was there i could review the week and analyse what i sucseeded in or what went wrong. This knowledge i brought about to the next goal. It works with lucid dreaming like everything else in life. You want to stop smoking you set a goal, you want to have bigger muscles you set a goal, and within this goals all that is necesary to reach the goal follows with. Same with LD you set a goal. Some long termed and some short termed, like in a week.
My first goals was.
Within one week(a date) i want to have 3 LD.
Atleast 7 LD within a month.
Atleast 1 WILD within a month.
Get to a certain place in the dreamworld within a month.
Hold a LD stabil and clear for about 2 minuts.
Atleast 1 RC in the hour.
Remember atleast 2 dreams per night.
Some of them i managed and some of them i didnt. What i did when setting new goals was to lower the goal i didnt reach, so it could be more reacheble for me. I wanted to have realistic but at the same time difficult goals i could strecth for. To low goals i found out to be dull. If i know i can take 10 push ups, i dont set 6 push ups to be the goal. Neither do i set 300 push ups to be the goal. Realistic, like maybe 20 push up. Well i bet you already know what goals is.
I wanted to share this cause it really worked for me and ive had problems for a long time now to have a regular and stabil rate of LDs. If it works for others or someone is already doing it, speak out.
EDIT: I put the goals on my bedroom wall. So i see them everytime i go into the room so to say. Everytime i get another LD i cross it of in the empty routs ive made til i reach the goal. This way im always reminded.
