      the "trip"

I know I can't be the only one who has had this. Like, you'll be falling asleep, not paying barely any attention at all to the outside world, when suddenly you'll feel like you were walking and just tripped and started falling and jolt out of your potential dream.

I normally only get this when just trying to sleep, but I got it this evening when I was trying to have an afternoon LD. Does anyone know what if this is an indicator that I'm close to entering a LD, and how to counter it if I'm trying to LD?

      Thanks!

This happens to me a lot - I think the sleep paralysis is so weak at this spot, that it fails by stronger impulse. I usually wake up "tripping" (actually moving) in my bed.

This is called hypnogogic myoclonic muscle twitch. This means your body is firing test shots at your mind. When this happens just observe them. As you relax you might witness this happening a few times. Just be prepared b/c its likely your body will go alseep very fast & is liable for taking you with it.

I believe this is called a hypnic jerk. Has something to do with SP, I don't really know too much about it. I get it fairly often though.
