Can someone please help me with this WILD thing?

I can never tell if I'm in SP or not.
It just feels like my whole body has fallen asleep, as would your foot, or arm.
But, I never get to HI. I never enter a dream.
      I just see black.
Except earlier today I felt quite sleepy, so I decided to try a WILD.
I laid down, counted my breaths, relaxed, bla bla bla.
Then my body did the whole free fall, waterbed tests on me.
And then I heard the ocean.
But it was very very loud.
Also, I heard the sound of metal on metal. But no images. Am I one of those people who only hear things, not see things?
I just don't get how people do this.
      Thoughts?
      Tips?
      Advice?
      Thanks~~

This is probably your first problem. Achieving a WILD is extremely difficult, if not impossible if you're doing it after having been awake. This means your body is going to restart the entire sleep process from the beginning, and you will need to go through all the pre-REM stages of sleep before getting to the dream-rich REM sleep. Although recent research does suggest that dreams can occur in non-REM sleep, they are not as frequent or vivid. I would recommend doing WBTB-WILD; you can check out the WILD tutorials in the tutorial section.

Okay, but I also did this last night...
Or, morning, after I had woken up from a vivid dream, (Probably my REM cycle) around 6:30.
      Same thing happened.

I'll just study up on it, and practice.
      Practice makes perfect.

Yeah, if you do it in the morning right after waking from sleep then you will still be in a REM stage, but if you try in the middle of the day or at bedtime (when you haven't been asleep since the night before), then you body will reset and begin from stage 1. Good luck, and you can check out my new tutorial if you'd like, in my sig:

Yes, I've read your tutorial, but I don't have an automatic alarm clock, so I don't know how that will work for me, but I have to say, I think that would be very easy for me.
I need an automatic alarm clock, now.

Yeah, we're still working on finding a good automatic alarm clock that doesn't require a PC or iPod, but no luck yet. The best thing about my technique is that it avoids having to go through the relaxation/entering SP process, since you'll already be in SP. It's worked for me for months, so hopefully others can have success with it.

Yeah, maybe after a while ever so slightly try to move one of your fingers, if you can't then your most likely in SP. And I actually have a waterbed so I always experience that feeling XD. Anyway once you made sure your in SP it is my understanding you try to imagine yourself standing in the place you want to be and imagine each and every detail and soon you will be there. About the not seeing visual hallucinations it depends greatly on the person. Some people dont even hear sounds or see anything. Sometimes one or the other. Sometimes both. If you have any other questions please ask.

Yes, I definitley understand why that would work more then the typical WILD. It sounds very guaranteed.

And, I'll try moving something next time.
I just thought moving something will end any progression you had with it, so I didn't try to move anything.
I'll try that tonight, if I wake up at all.
