      Magickal methods of attaining lucidity?

I have good recall and have lucid dreamed extensively before, but for the last couple years its gone really dry though my dreams remain fun and intense.

I'm also into magick, Qabalah, Hermeticism, Shamanism, etc, and at least a few others here must be too. I wonder if anyone had any techniques of a magickal bent to help them attain lucidity?

I've been using a grimoire by this artist/sorcery named Chumbley who was very into dream work, and again my intensity of dreams has gone up and recall has gone up, but lucid...nope.

Well, if you are into magick, you can try sigils and/or creating servitors for attaining lucidity.

I have been reading alot about South American Shamanism and planthealing/divination.

In my experience a very effective Shamanic approach to Lucid Dreaming is the use of Datura.
If 3 Datura Inoxia seeds are chewed/grinded and swallowed some 15 minutes before bedtime this results in extremely viid and well remembered dreams. Never use more than 3 seeds though: In higher doses Datura will bring about a nightmare-ish delirium in which one has NO idea what they're doing. Also Datura in high enough doses is Lethally toxic. So never get to happy about Lady Datura and take 3 seeds and no more.

I have had nothing but success with Datura as an Oneirogen. 100% successrate.

I can also testify that Magic (Psilocybin containing)Mushrooms are powerfull Oneirogens. However they're Oneirogenic effects are much less reliable than Datura's Oneirogenic effects. Perhaps small doses of Magic Mushrooms combined with 3 Datura seeds it will do alot of Oneirogenic good.

I have once taken Ayahuasca; a Spiritually cleansing brew from native amazonian peoples. A brew that brings about a very deep, intense spiritual experience in which one's "spiritual ailments" are exposed, diagnosed and healed. I did this guided by a ceremonial service of the Ayahuasca church Santo Daime. It was a blessing and a healing on the deepest level of existance.

I have since wondered how much ayahuasca would be Oneirogenic when taken in small doses right before sleep. Never tried this, but somehow I feel this would bring dreams of a much higher awareness than common dreams. Some Datura is sometimes added to Ayahuasca brews by some South American Shamans, so a small ayahuasca dose with 3 Datura seeds added might actually be the mother of all Oneirogens.

A well known Shamanic method of achieving a state of trance(From which healing/divination is done) is Drumming. This same trance state is Ideal for Lucid Dreaming.
When I Play the drum( my Djembé or my Darbuka) I allways automatically fall into a trance. The longer I drum the deeper the trance becomes. Therefor I like some drumming before bedtime to fall asleep faster and dream more vividly. Also I listen to repeatative ambient music while falling asleep. Music just PERFECT for entrancement while falling asleep and while dreaming is found here: http://oddworld.com/firsttenyears/do...ow_audio.shtml
Scroll to Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee and download track 11 and 12.

It is often said by many people that Salvia Divinorum, another Shamanicly used plant, is perfectly Oneirogenic. Never tried Salvia as an Oneirogen myself. Perhaps I will when I start growing Salvia (because it´s rather expensive)

Finally I'd like to tell you about Kratom; A Thai tree of bliss.
It's effects are very calming, relaxing, mentally clearing and meditative.
I finally decided to try Kratom Tea (15X extraxt)for the first time 2 days ago. Felt the effects to clear my mind, calm my emotions, relax my body and lift my mood. "Serenity" would describe it's effects well. Again I haven't tried, but Kratom seems like a potentially effective Oneirogen.

That is what I know to be effective Oneirogenesis.
Hope it helps you, the way it helped me.

Christ it won't work. At best it will increase your recall, but even that will take training.

I've experimented with casting sigils mentally for the purpose of attaining lucidity but not had much luck.

Perhaps it will take more time.

I find it to be a great visualization exercise, however, and intend to keep it up.
