      Can't LD

I've tried so much to LD over the last month but I can't. I came really close to WILD'ing, but I didn't. It takes 1 in 1500 tries to get my body in SP.

When I wake up to an alarm clock at 3:30AM, I fall back asleep before I can put my dream back together.

I RC only if lucid dreaming hasn't been on my mind all day and I don't think about LD'ing whatsoever as I try to go to sleep. My RC is checking the time, but I can't find it anywhere when i'm actually looking for it.

I can't remind myself to do RC's anymore, the thought just doesn't come to me, so by the end of the day I've RC'ed 3-4 times and then have to play catch up to 21 while I try to sleep.

I continuously do mantras when I lay down to go to sleep. I write down my dreams in my dream journal. I always remember them. I just need a tutor/mentor.

      I see you!

Let's take a different approach, this works sometimes for people who are stuck in a lucid rut. Sometimes your subconcious fights you, I only wish I knew why.

Take the next month off. Don't reality check, don't wake up at 3:30am, don't try to WILD. Just sleep, in fact, try NOT to lucid dream.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

This makes the thread's title weird. I'm still a newbie but well, I think you are trying too hard. By trying too hard what you really get is eager, frustration and things that won't really help you LDing. I agree with Seeker...

Yo man, i know why your falling asleep after you wake up. Next time you get up from your alarm i want you to turn the alarm off, walk around for a minute and lay back down. Now here is the important part. While your trying to do this, DONT THINK ABOUT GETTING SP!! Instead of just closing your eyes i want you to look THROUGH your eyes. Like, look at the back of your eyelids as if your eyes were actually open, all the while visualizing your room from the first person perspective of laying in your bed. Thats it. Oh, and obviously dont move a muscle.

Maybe Lucid Dreaming will come to me when I don't even focus on it. Because the 2 nights I didn't focus on it, I did RC's in my dreams naturally.

Edit: You know how your dream is built around things during your waking life...Well I heard if you focus on that huge bag of popcorn you got at the carnival that day, then you won't dream about it. Maybe I'm focusing too much on LD'ing to where my mind doesn't want to do it for me.

That sounds like a pretty damn good method. I appreciate it. Now do I literally want to walk around for 60 seconds. Or can I piss and get something to drink...Maybe smoke a cig, or is that too long of being awake?

I duno it could be different for you, but for me i am limited because i can become too awake really easy. I smoked half a cigarette once when i woke up, but the spark from my lighter caused me to become too awake. Dont turn on any lights, the light may cause you to become too awake. You wanna keep between being too awake, and ready to fall asleep again if that makes sense.

If you just do what i said with your eyelids you will be seeing HI and after a few minutes SP will set in ( as long as you didnt move). Once that loud ringing noise comes and you feel a slight jolt, just keep visualizing your room. It is WAY easier to visualize the place im actually AT rather than somewhere i want to be, and once your in your room in the dream anyway you can still go wherever you wanted to before, just leave your room lol. Make sure you feel everything along the way so that you can help the dream to last longer instead of fading out.

Oh, and the way the dream forms for me, is its like my eyes are opening. Basically your waking up in a dream, in your room lol

Just keep up with your dream journal. If you do nothing else besides keeping a dream journal you will have lucid dreams. The more often you remeber your dreams the more random lucid dreams you have.
