      So very close

I have been trying to Lucid pretty hard over the last few weeks, doing the dream journal etc yet the only thing so far to pay off my efforts has been a small, tantalizing glimpse at lucid dreaming that I had in a five second dream the other night. It's only made me more determined, and so I decided to give WILD a fair crack, with some promising results, but a few problems.

When I tried it this morning I got closer than I ever have, yet there seemed to be a few things stopping me. I live in the country, which I guess is pretty lucky as it is the ideal place for sleep, yet in the morning the birds are particularly loud (I know, I know at least I don't have to put up with traffic) but not too loud to be distracting. The problem was that when I tried to WILD, I heard the birds and other noises, and it was kind of like an 'anchor' that stopped me from dreaming, and kept me in reality...

Also I have found that when I do the little chant (I've found simply "lucid dream" to be effective) I find that it disrupts my HI. I can either do the chant, or let HI take hold, and if I do the latter I wake up an hour later wondering what happened. I know it's mainly a case of balacing them, but has anyone else had this problem? I'm almost there, I'm staring at the door, so to speak, but I just need to be able to open it and walk through into dreamland. If you get what I mean.

      Cheers.

Roller, I know EXACTLY where you are coming from! I struggle with that all the time. Noises bring me back to this reality, concentrate too much and you stay awake, lose concentration and fall asleep!

It is a very fine balance. Have you thought about getting a white noise generator? I have one that mimics rain, that seems to strike the right balance for me. I can passivly listen to the "rain" and get going.
you must be the change you wish to see in the world...

Ah yeah... now why didn't I think of that before??? I've got Brainwave Generator, I'll use that to make some nice white noise that will relax me. Cheersfor that, just goes to show how many problems are solved from someone else's veiw. I might try a couple more times without it though, even if I turn on my fan to give a nice constant buzz.

Here's my passport, I'm checking in for a flight to dreamland.

      Cheers.
