      Scrying mirrors

Anybody here ever use a scrying mirror to trigger lucids or see messages that might help your dreaming? I'm thinking of trying this, might make my own scrying mirror. I'm not exactly sure how it'll play out in my lucid dreams but I'm pretty sure it'll at least give some interesting visuals.

EDIT: I would like to change this topic to scrying in general because I fell most of us here have experienced scrying before.

That's not a dumb question! A scrying mirror is usually a black mirror, it is used to see images (into the future or answers to questions etc.) Have you ever stared at water and saw images form before your eyes? That's basically what scrying is, you can scry with trees, water, mirrors etc.

I think it first started with crystal balls, people used scrying to tell fortunes and whatnot. I believe this could be very useful towards lucid dreaming.

I'm not sure if this could help. Perhaps though, if you just made your own images, that didn't tie in with the future and questions and such, it could help improve your imagination and creativity. That would help make your lucids more fun, but I doubt it would help trigger a lucid. But you don't know until you try!

I was picturing it almost as a way to daydream or lucid dream while awake! It's almost as if you can make up your own thoughts and see them play out before your very eyes. I wasn't going to use it as a way to predict the future but as a way to visualize thoughts and dreams.

I was thinking it might help get in touch with our most inner thoughts.

Very interesting concept. I'd like to know if it "works" to some extent.

I have concentrated so hard on the lines of a tree that they started to form images and dance around.

      If that counts..

I wonder if scrying is in any way connected to lucid dreaming, except that scrying might enhance your power of concentration, memory, and psychic abilities and this might in turn enhance your ability to remember your lucid dreams. I have never done any scrying, but it sure interests me.
