      The Finer Points of WILD...

All right, I've got three questions for you guys/girls, both involving the nuances of WILD technique...

      1) When you are attempting WILD, what position are you in? Are you lying on your back/front? Where are your hands/arms? I tend to lie on my back with my arms down beside me, palms to the mattress. What about you?

      2) What do you do with your eyes?! When you lie down and get really relaxed, I find that your eyes tend to roll back into your head, so I always try and keep them in a normal position (the same as when they're open... only with my eyes shut). What do you think?

      3) Any advice to prevent bordom? I keep trying and trying, but eventually just get fed up, roll over and go to sleep. Any suggestions on how to stop?

      Thanks so much!

A lot of it is just patience.

I use roughly the same postion (palms to my sides), and just look forward, but the biggest factor is staying awake long enough. Just relax and think about something involving, such as riding a bike or swimming. Something that involves all of the senses. This will keep you conscious and awake when you'd normally drift off to sleep. It will take a while, sometimes more than a half an hour, but it's worth it.

      Thanks.

Awesome, thanks. I'll definitely try the bike riding idea. Haven't tried something like that yet...

I've done all positions during WILD. Back seems to induce quickest, however, if you have trouble with snoring on your back, it can wake you up. Laying on front with my head on my arms seems to work best for me.

Eyes rolling back in your head is part of the sun-eye technique. I usually just let them do whatever they want.

Boredom can be a problem, especially after an hour! I usually give up after 20 minutes. Every WILD iI've had has happened in the first 20 minutes of trying.

I've experienced hypnagogic images (if you mean that with 'hallucinating') only twice, I think. It wasn't scary at all, more it was really beautiful. First time I saw coloured stuff, like in '3D pipes'-screensaver, but a way more beautiful. Second time there was a light that grew and grew until it 'ate' me. I think that even if you don't succeed with WILD, those images are worth it (if you get them).
Don't think about those damn kangaroos.

      HATE IS RIGHT!

Onset of WILD can be an interesting thing. The patterns, the vibrations, the sounds!
