      possible wbtb+wild technique

Hello, been lurking these boards for a while and finally posting now.

Got my first lucid dream in 6 months this way - did it accidentally and ended up having a very vivid lucid dream that lasted well over 30 minutes.

Anyhow, what I did was after I woke up, I was up for around 5-10 minutes awake, lying in my bed. Then, I closed my eyes in order to fall asleep once again. For some reason, I tried making up continuous lines of a "story" (maybe I was bored and was just thinking things for no reason)

For example, in my head I just said something to the sort of "This girl walked along the city and the city's tall buildings loomed into the sky where the birds flew around looking down at the many people walking around through the maze of cars honking at the traffic clogged up in the drain that led into the sewer where rats live and eat bread that people bake in the bakeries........"

All the while I was creating the imagery for the things involuntarily, just the things that come to mind when I say those words. Don't concentrate on them, just let them flow from your mind.
Soon enough, after just a couple lines of making up things, I hear very loud "KRACK" and sizzlings noises from my ears and I knew it was possibly a WILD. The first time I never expected it so I opened my eyes, but I tried the same thing again, and once again I heard the loud cracking and sizzling noise.

Soon enough I was half-aware of a dream city and I managed to look around and begin my lucid dream, complete transition from being awake to being in the dream.

Sorry for the long post and personal experience, but I'd like to know if anyone could possibly try this technique and see if it helps to induce a WILD or lucid dream.

By the way, I had no awareness of SP or vibrations. Just loud noise and images.

Ironchef, this technique sounds promising! I'll give it a try tomorrow morning around 4:00 am and I'll let you know how it turns out.

      Thanks for sharing!

As for your post being long, I appreciate very detailed accounts. :-)

That happens to me sometimes...the loud noises, that is...

I didn't realize that it was potential for an LD, it always gives me a start and I end up opening my eyes. Maybe next time I'll try to do something with it.

      Good post.

Unfortunately my husband had to get up three hours earlier than normal and messed up my attempt.

I'll try again another day and let you know if it works.

I may try this next time I wake up. I once did something similar, but it was when I went to bed at night.

I'm thinking this would probably work best as a wbtb method but I'll try and see if I have any luck with it at night.

This happends to me a lot (the making up of a story line). It's a great idea to incorporate that as some sort of induction technique and if I'm aware enough this should definatly work. So maybe trying after eating some chocolate or something with caffine could work

When i used to perform WILD, i feel like my body is drown or sucked into void... this make me scared... maybe because it's my first experience?
Maybe I'll try again next week... i'm lack of sleep lately

i really like the idea of this technique. Ive been considering trying WBTB again after my first attempt nearly got me a LD. I havent really had the time to do it lately because of a lot of school work and early mornings. However, I have no school tomorrow so I will give it a go
      Ill post my results

This is completely normal, from what I have read and what i experience when I try WILD. Its a sign that your body is "shutting down", so try to ignore it and keep your mind awake.

i was going to try it last nite but I caught up reading "The Da Vinci Code" and ended up finishing at 3:30am lol. oh well. I tried it anyways but instead of saying "A girl was walking down...." I said "I was walking down..." and carried on like that. I didnt go lucid (mainly because I had started very late and was extremely tired from reading) but I notice some early signs of SP.
I will try again 2nite, and this time I wont read my book.... Its soo goddamn good!

Wow, I'm excited to try this after my first LD jut two nights ago. I'll try this, but say a different story, hopefully it'll work! I hope it works if you've woken up from a dream then go back to sleep because that's what happens during my nights.

      I'll tell the results tomorrow!

      Hi again.

It's been a whole night and I tried your methed both before I went to sleep and after I woke up in the middle of the night. The only thing it did was make me wake up about 5 times during the night for no apparent reason, plus, I only remember 1 dream.

Maybe I didn't get enough sleep.... or maybe I need no time limit on it. I'll try once again on the weekend.

I've tried something very similar to your technique before.. I was very tired so i figured going from waking state to sleeping would be easier at this time.

I tried to imagine myself walking down a street, and soon enough i saw it all in my head, first person view
I then tried to imagine someone walking by me, and a person appeared. I heard his feet touching the ground and it all felt real, too real... so i opened my eyes.... and, damn..
      hey
