Thread: Question on HI

I' don't think you really need HI to achieve WILD. That's because when I've succeeded with WILD, I've only got those sounds or shaking. First I started to hear music, and after a little while, I heard that 'scratch'-sound that tells you that the dream has begun. Also, I don't think I've experienced more than one of those three things (HI, sounds, shaking) at a single WILD attempt.

Anyway, I'm not good with WILDs so maybe someone more experienced can help more.

how far do you get when trying a WILD? When i tried it, i saw no HI untill the VERY last stage of the process. Right before i entered the dream. Maybe you're not waiting long enough. Just have patience and dont think about it during WILD if you are that is

Well I get the vibrations, sleep hypnosis, and hypnogagic sounds... usually after about 20-30 mins... I've also had a feeling of breathlessness, as if there was a weight on my chest. I haven't given WILD a go for a long time, I think I might do it now.

hmm..it was so long ago...ummm....i think it took me 30-45 minutes to actually do it. I didn't feel any vibrations though. You know the feeling when you're on a roller coaster and you're about to go down a steep drop. And then when you are down the drop and the roller coaster quickly pulls up so you feel the G-force pulling you down? thats what i felt(kick-ass to)

I've only done it once though and that was my goal. After i did it once, i stopped trying, but i think i'll start it up again

ANy kind of HI can get you into a dream. In fact their probably the main gateway to get there. Hallucinations are basically what a dream is. Whenever you hear/feel/see something, Concentrate on getting closer to that sound ie. make it louder. Or concentrate on making that feeling more powerfull ie. try to shake more rapidly. Or if you see something try to go towards it and walk into the dream. If you experiencing HI full fledged then a dream/OBE is right around the corner. Remember to try and be a passive observer when your experiencing HI, just let it become more and more until its a dream and your in it.

I NEVER start with visual, thats my last sense that "connects" to the dream. It may just be you won't experiance it, which is perfectly normal.

Sound and vibrations.. thats my favorite way to slip in.. just try to imagine yourself falling, and spinning a little.

It's kinda the opposite for me. When I was realy give LDing a good try my HI just seemed to naturally improve. I found dozing half asleep in the morning the best time.
I once had an experince of HI as moving down a street in a town near where I live. The image slowly became clearer and I noticed a green house with the front door open and just a black doorway inside.
As soon as I saw that doorway I knew it would lead to an LD and it did

I wasn't even trying HI as an entry technique, it just kinda happend. Realy wish I could do it again

Ugggh how can you do it for 40 minutes?? That would be so hard...

Sorry to burst your bubble, but...

When you close your eyes you don't just see black... normally it starts with faint swirling colours on black... which then emerge into patterns. This IS hypnagogic imagery, and is what hypnotizes you into the unconcious state of normal dreaming. eventually those patterns form proper images like faces of familiar people, or some things you have seen that day - though if you let the patterns hypnotize you then you are normally unconcious (or pretty close to being unconcious) by the time these proper images form.

If you can manage to stay concious for long enough for these images to form there is a great method I heard of but have yet to try:
- If you see people, try to make eye contact, this may pull you into a dream.
- If you actually have a presence in the image yourself, you're pretty close to being in a dream, try to grab a hold of something in the image and physically pull yourself into it.

I'm sorry, how does this bust my bubble? That's exactly what I was saying. ???

it bursts your bubble because they're not the main gateway to a lucid dream, they're the main gateway to rendering you unconcious in their pattern form. the only time they are a gateway is when they are full images of recogniseable objects/beings.

...ok...?
