Two similar dreams with possible OBEs

It's happened twice now, I noticed some similarities. Am I dreaming about OBEs, or am I actually separating from my body? Both times, It felt like water was sprinkling on my forehead right before I lifted off. Here are the two dream journal entries. Originally posted by About my first 'OBE' I I'm in my bed. I'm not physically moving, but I'm sliding around. When I sleep, my head is next to the wall, and my head is only moving closer. I realize I should have hit the wall by this point. I hear something, I think my brother is getting up early to shower. I think I looked over at it and it was only 5 o'clock. I knew he wouldn't get up early in a million years. Then I realize it only sounds like running water, and soon I feel it drip on my forehead. I get up and out of bed. Something is different. My room looks just the same as it did at 5AM, but I knew I was dreaming right from the get go. I go over to my closet wall, which was tough to do. Walking wasn't that effective, I sort of had to swim through \"air\" or possibly \"(a)ether\". At the closet wall, successfully stick my hand through it. Then I walk through my closet into the office room. I look for a sign that I'm actually OBEing, but then I can't see a damn thing. I decide \"Screw this, I'll go straight up\". I got into the lotus position, started meditating and thought of myself going straight upwards. I see myself going through the roof just as I saw inside the wall. I go flying straight up. Soon I see five planets, with the same Z coordinate, but otherwise in no pattern. The interesting thing was that each planet had rings located near the equator. The rings had a diameter maybe the radius of each planet. They were golden and shiny. A circle could be fit so that it would be enter the ring through the center, and be perfectly normal to it. The rings made a semi-spherical torus (or partial donut). Each planet had about 16 rings around it. Further above the planets was more. There were gray circular disks, parallel to the Z-plane. These had huge buildings on the disks. Each disk had comparable radius to each planet. There were giant brick buildings, taking up to as much as 10% of the square area on the disk. This was similar to a dream I had a few nights ago (seeing men and giant buildings on earth in a baseball stadium). I was curious and went really close to one of these \"higher\" civilazations. My subconscious cut the dream and I was back in my bed. Originally posted by About my second 'OBE' I wrote I was in my bed, laying there and I saw a greenish-aqua form, that looks similar to my outline about a foot above me. I will it to move towards the sky, and soon it shoots off, and I can see a small purplish outline. It goes from where the green-blue body was, to where it is. I feel like water is spraying on my forehead, again from the same place as last time. Then I sort of pop up above my body. I decide to go straight up into the sky, but I'm having trouble. Something like a tractor beam is pulling me back towards my body. I decide to go outside of my wall to the right. As I do, I fall some. Once outside though, I shoot straight up until I approach the clouds. I go slowly and see the clouds are like not quite finished, yet superimposed layers of jigsaw puzzles. I break through the clouds, go up, and soon I see the entire Earth. The land is odd though, and colored almost like crayons. I was going to go across the sea, but I wanted to see the natural disaster. For some reason I was looking for a fire in Kansas, but overlooked Katrina's point of impact. Instead I decide to drop where I was.

Dear Distantclone, In most cases Dreaming and Out of Body Experience overlap. Most of our Higher Dreaming is done on the Higher Astral and Spiritual Planes, which are the same Planes which Astral Travel of Our of Body Experience would take us to. But,ordinarily, when people refer to Out of Body Experience, they are referring to the experience in the lowest Astral Plane that roughly corresponds to our own Physical World... though not precisely the same, as the Lower Astral has additional elements which we would understand as being subjective. For instance, when I had done some Out of Body travel in one town in the far east, I was surprised to find a statue in the town square that was not really there. When I researched the point, I found that prior to the Japanese occupation there had actually been a statue in that Town Square -- of a General who had once won a battle against the Japanese. the Japanese occupation could destroy and remove the Physical Statue, but they could not remove and destroy the Astral Statue that had become the corresponding Astral Reality of the Physically reall Object.

clone, i heard some OBE expert say some interesting stuff on the streaming radio with laberge lastnight. he made it seem like an OBE is possible, but in the sense that you are psychically, physically (yes both) perceiving the astral. like yes its in your mind but your mental mind is travelling (perceiving outside of your imagination and memory)but in your head! i hope u get what i mean! those sound like type 2 FAs (maybe OBE FAs)where you use your mind to float around your room. i have done this a few times recently. it was electric-like and hard to move so i used my mind to float about my room for a short time. sound familiar?

Yeah, jay_dawg I understand. It's in my mind, but my mind isn't in me. The first OBE I had trouble walking, so I swam and it worked. It was like I was in a fluid. The second time it was like I my body was acting like a tractor beam trying to pull me back together. Supposedly an OBE is accompanied by a reverse in polarity of the heart. I wonder how one is subject to electromagnetic forces and what not. Also supposedly there is (a)ether, which is a fluid that is around us at all times. That would explain why I could move better while swimming than walking. Let me ask some questions about perception while OBE, since we are now using astral senses. When I'm OBE, I've seen places and they seem cartoonish. Like, they have small structures to symbolize them. For example, AZ/NM might have a big cactus to show that it's the desert. Texas has a tumbleweed about half it's size, a really wide river (same order of size as the tumbleweed) for the Mississippi River. I've had a non-OBE dream where this happened too. Is this perception the same as the subconcious? Is this a stereotype of sorts to communicate something? I know the subconscious isn't exactly politically correct. Is it summarizing or symbolizing something? Also, in the first dream there were cities on disks above the planets. Is this like a higher astral plane? Is there any relation between where the lower planes and higher planes are? When I approached these disk cities, it was like I wasn't vibrating fast enough and got rejected, back to somewhere else (i.e. False awakening into another part of the dream).

hmmm the not vibrating fast enough sounds about right. but i am such an OBE newb. i think ive only had a few short ones. so im as ignorant as you! sorry!!
