      Meeting ppl???

Within a LD, can a person actually meet up with another person who can LD and have a conversation.. just wondering if that is possible.. If it is, how would one know if it is not just a part of the dream and actually the real person...

      THanks

Yes they can that would be called Dream Sharing. To know whether or not it was the actual person or just a dream character or a DC is beyond me I have no idea. But i do not that it is possible to meet someone else in a dream who can also ld.

There's only one way to find out if the person was in the same dream as you, and that's to ask the person the next day.
If they say they were, it's been a sucess...
I tried to meet someone in a cafe in a dream...i met them, but when i asked them about it the next day, they hadn't dreamed of a cafe...
Obviously, that doesn't work if the person you are dreaming about has no interest in dreaming whatsoever...they'll just look at you like you're a bit nuts...

There's still debate about Dream Sharing on the site. Basically, the only way to know if you really shared a dream is to just ask the person the next day.

Yeah Seeker, it is pretty hard.
I only have managed to do it w/a few people, & I would say they have to be expert LDers in order for this to happen...or of course, you can just try to enter their dream through something......like S**-***?
And Seeker...doesn't this belong in Beyond Dreaming if it is on DSing??

Okay, this is making my head hurt. There was another thread where nesgirl119 had these underscores in her post, completely ruining the cohesiveness of her point. Is she being moderated, or what? If so, I know you can't tell me what was deleted, but can you tell me why? [/whine]

She's touchy about using the term 'sci fi' on DreamViews - there's some history behind it

In very basic terms, a sci-fi is a hybrid OBE, FA and LD rolled into one

Unless otherwise stated, views expressed in this post are not necessarily representative of the official Dream Views stance. Hell, it's probably not even representative of me.

We have been working on this, right Nesgirl? Please use the accepted terminology, either LD, AP, or OBE when discussing things like this. The blanks are confusing people.

Oh, okay. That actualy sounds familiar to me. I've had a few OBEs that seemed to bleed over into LDs just before waking, and they were accompanied by intermitent bouts of sleep paralysis. Very spooky stuff.

And yes it would seem the only way to actually know if you were sharing a dream with someone else is to ask the person in person if they did indeed have the same dream as you. If this proves to be true then yes you did have a DS.

Personally I don't think it works, it's like believeing in telepathy and all that crap.

It's only my opinion tough, everyone has the right to believe what they want.

I think you'd have to do it not only with someone who was an experienced LD'er, but someone who was very open to the possibility, and most of all someone you are very in sync with, and know very well.

I know this is dabbling in the outer realms of what's to be discussed and all, but I have been able to share trips after dosing on psilocybic mushies with one of my best friends. I think if we were still in constant contact like we were at the time of the experiences, and he was familiar with LD's we might be able to have some type of success with sharing an LD. I'd love to find out!! I've never heard any personal experiences either. But just because it has not been proven to me beyond reasonable doubt does not mean I shall disregard or disbelieve such an idea. I think it's a marvelous idea!! Imagine the bennefits of parapalegics and their mates!!

I believe it can be done, but i dont think it can be done through a lucid dream.. at least not the way i see it. The time i've tried in an LD got me knocked to the ground once, and the second time put me in a very short sleep paralysis. heh, but then again, i was purposely trying to open a portal to my friends dream, and im not sure if that's how its supposed to be done.

I thinks its a step up from a lucid dream, but again, its only one of my many theories, aha
