      Tesla's Hyperdimensional Oscillator

      http://www.lifetechnology.org/hyperdimensional.htm

      Only $89.95! Limited time offer!

I want one, but I can't afford to spend $90 on a whim of curiosity. Tesla was the man, though! It might be cool...

Looks kind of like a device developed to wrest $90.00 from the unsuspecting.

Sorry guys. Tesla experimented mainly in two fields, electro-magnetics and resonance.

The combination of these two fields let to his most famous invention, the Tesla Coil.

He was a great man, we owe our modern power distribution to him. He advocated using alternating current as a power trnsfer medium while Edison pushed direct current. Tesla's way is much more efficient.

If you ever get a chnce, check out his bio from your local library.

I agree with MarthM here. Smells like a scam.

Tesla never published the details of the Teslascope. Not even when his colorado notebooks were published after his death did any details of the Teslascope emerge.

And his apparent results with it are pretty widely considered to be "a great man havin' a not so great day..."

speaking about tesla, i have a 90 sumthin page document on something a great scientist friend of mine (kamavasayita, that's his screen name) mingled his sciences with tesla's. it is phenomenal! if i had it uploaded in the internet, i wuld have posted it.....however, kama requested that i do not. it's quite amazing.

I've read up a lot on Tesla, and he was quite an extraordinary guy. I also suggest that people read up on him.

A lesser known story I know of him, of which I'm unsure how certain it is...
He noticed that the earth is a great conductor of electricity - which is exactly why we use it as ground (Because there's so much of it and it distributes it through conductivity)
In any event, he decided to try use the earth as a resonating system, and spent some time rigging a huge tesla coil to resonate with the earth. The idea was to send the electricity THROUGH the earth, and back again, and then ADD more electricity. To create a sort of electrical swing (You know, push it at the right times and it goes higher)

When he was eventually happy with it, he set it running and left the lab in a hurry. From a distance they saw a lightning arc steadily growing in size until it was about 40 metres in length (if I recall correctly). This is apparently still the record.
Blue 'fire' was dancing on the grass.

At this point the power died, everything stopped and Tesla ran inside to scream at the power company. They screamed back at him that the generators basically exploded, and that he'll never get power from them again.

      Now, here's the interesting bits:
      1) Imagine if someone did that today, on exactly the opposite side of the earth from eg. silicon valley? Fun fun
      2) The reason the generators failed is because they are grounded to ... you guessed it... the earth. So what happens when the earth isn't safe for grounding? Boom
      3) Tesla was purported to also be involved with trying to discover free energy and energy that is wireless.
      4) When Tesla died, the next day the lab caught fire (mysteriously). And was then bulldozed. ie. None of his later work was preserved. Conspiracy? Who knows...

I heard about another rumored experiment of his. He was working with some sort of resonance device in a loft apartment. The thing was about the size of a grapefruit, and when activated, began generating waves of resonant kinetic energy, building on itself much like that lightning experiment. Basicaly, he nearly shook the entire building down. The police showed up and banged in his door just as he was deactivating it, that is to say, smashing it with a big hammer. He looked up and saw the police, and remarked, "You just missed a very interesting experiment!"

That story was fact O-Nieronuat, I read about that one.

Placebo, your scenario is possible, however, it would probably take the entire energy output of every electrical plant in the world to pull it off. First off, you would have to find the resonant frequency of the earth and time your pulses such that Q is optimized. There are also problems to deal with in that the earth is not a homogenous mass and there would be reflections and multipath distortion degrading the whole thing.

That's cool. I appreciate that. I prefer people not know I'm really God.

      --------------------

Seeker, good point on the multipathing. Not all layers would have the same resonate frequency. So multipathing and, much worse, SWR, would be tough to overcome.

We do use Tesla's work in communicating with our submarines in ULF while under water. Resonating some layers seems to be pretty doable with enough power behind it.

Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.
