      No problem!

[quote]What did you think of it?

I think I learned about 20 times more than I ever could have in high school physics and in about 1/8 of the time. That means it's about 160 times better than modern education. Which is a shame because this thing is 20-years-old already.

We actually watched an episode in high school. My teacher said, "don't worry about the math, it's a little advanced." What?? I'll worry about the math if I want to worry about the math, thank you. I was itching to tell him that the series was pedagogically superior to him, a flesh and blood person, but he was such a meek person. I feel like a monster whenever I hurt a teacher's feelings or embarrass them in front of the class.

i wish i could actually see it

you see, i don't have the money to go out and get this stuff, and i don't have any good material at home, it takes too long to learn from books, but on video, i learn ten times faster....but.....my school doesn't let us download stuff....so i can't even get that. plus i can't do calculus...

Can you download it at home, cd27? I know what you mean about learning it through video. Some of us need things in a visual context. I actually need it to be multiple contexts, visual, modern, historical, trans-scholastic... basically anything that exposes its long term significance or immediate importance.

You don't have to know any calculus at all to start. The way they introduce the derivative is perfect, because they do with ordinary algebraical rules. A decent fifth grader could learn calculus from this if they wanted. Plus, they introduce it by applying it to a real world concept, which is how it was invented in the first place!

CD, I genuinely empathize. I personally think it's a circle of hell to want to learn something and be prevented from doing so.

Your school might own a copy, though. If you are interested they might let you stay after school and watch it in a study room.

yea..tel me about it. it stinks. i'd use an encyclopedia, but it's made in the 60's so, that sucks.

you know, i never thought about asking the school about it. lol. i don't know, they might not have it, we're only a calss AAAA school (4-A)...not "huge", but not small either.
