      Nostradamus, the prophecy

Nostradamus is a guy that lived in the 1500s who correctly predicted the 911 terrorist attack in the World Trade Center.

      How he predicted it:

He predicted it in the style of quatrains. Or like a poem.

Two metal birds crashing into high buildings
      Flame on the buildings

      Something like that.

the "two metal birds" means the two airplanes, and the "high buildings" are the world trade center.

Now for my question, for those of you who knows alot about nostradamus, how did he predicted the future? I know he used some methods of astrology (i.e. planets, stars). He also used something called Clairvoyance. And they say before he see's into the distant future, he mediates then sees vision in water or fire. They also say he was on a hallucinogen, such as nutmeg.

If we know how nostradamus predicted the future, his methods and everything, then we can also predict the future?

Nothing like that, in fact. The Nostradamus believer-wanna-bes sure wish it was something like that.

The one that is attributed to 9/11 reads:

"In the City of God there will be a great thunder,
Two brothers torn apart by Chaos, while the fortress endures, the great leader will succumb",
The third big war will begin when the big city is burning"
      - Nostradamus 1654

Ok, now let's dig into this:

What justification could there possibly be for labeling New York City as "the City of God?"

Why refer to the twin towers as "brothers" when you might choose a word like "building" "monument" "tower" ... ?

"the great leader will succumb" is allegedly referring to the USA. In what way did we "succumb" to 9/11?!?!

So we could fairly successfully debunk this just in those logical questions. But there's a bigger problem here!

Nostradamus died in 1566. Nearly a hundred years before that passage was allegedly written.

The quatrain in question is NO WHERE IN HIS ENTIRE PUBLISHED WORKS.

In fact, this hoax was originally written a by college student named Neil Marshall in his thesis: "A Critical Analysis of Nostradamus"

Marshall invented the entire thing to demonstrate how a Nostradamus-like piece can be written so cryptically as to give itself over to almost any interpretation.

Pretty ironic considering how it's now being credited, huh?

a further hoax appeared on Usenet adding: "...on the 11 day of the 9 month that...two metal birds would crash into two tall statues...in the new city..and the world will end soon after""

Again: Never existed in any of Nostradamus' works.

So in short: It's bullshit in its entirety. Not written by Nostradamus, and no prediction of anything happened anywhere.

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

Maybe people found his quatrain about the 911 attack on 1654? But really he wroted a long time ago, when he was still alive.

Did you read anything I wrote?!??

It was written by a college kid.

It appears NO WHERE IN NOSTRADAMUS' writtings. No metal birds. No silver birds. No brothers torn apart by chaos. No NOTHING.

Doesn't exist. Period. End of discussion. Been debunked by scholars everywhere. Including Nostradamus researchers.

okay so nostradamus didnt predict 911 attacks, but he did predict world war 2.

And calm down, this is suppose to be a dispute, you just cant say "end of discussion".

Ok, tell you what: You come back with an argument that refutes what all the PhD's that study Nostradamus have had to say about the 9/11 stuff, and it won't be "end of discussion". Fair enough?

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

What are the specific well-translated quatrains claiming WW2 prediction?

I don't want to hear about the brain from someone that doesn't have one.
Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

Let's skip the pm of the discussion topic and post it for interpretation/debunking in the forum where it was asked instead? Doesn't that make sense?

      Sure thing! Tomorrow it is!

Nor do I want to hear about evolution from someone that hasn't evolved.

      In a whole new age
A curse of old will be broken
By a turned brother of old
      - Nostradamus 1554

See!!! THat clearly talks about the redsox and the curse babe ruth

See, the new age, after steroids began to be used
      Curse of old- before steroids
By a turned brother of old- the curse was by babe ruth after he turned from the redsox to the Yankees

See, try to deny nostradamus again!
ok ok ok I was joking, but it was pretty funny aye?

If you give it enough time, anyones predictions will come true.

I could say "I predict DreamViews will Go through a Critical Time", and at some point, im sure it will, but that doesn't mean im psychic.

Hell, an even bigger one could be:

"A great bang in the sky starts a battle that will be marked as one of histories greatest"

Again, theres a good chance that at Some point in the future, it will happen, even if it takes Thousands of Years...

I think people are just reading too much into this.
