      slowing time in dreams

At http://brain.web-us.com/lucid/luciddreamin...ingFAQ.htm...it says that Robert monroe once reported experiencing 100 years in 2 hours of OBE....and it offers a couple techniques to be able to slow time in dreams, but apparently they havent been deeply tested. Tonight when i go lucid i'll be able to try them out.

But i cant find anything else about Robert Moneroe concerning this topic.

Any input you have would be deeply appreciated.

Haven't heard of doing that other than in a LD!
As for that, all it takes is practice. It took me years to be able to manipulate time in a LD. For example, on a Saturday morning, I may decide to slow time down to 2 weeks for good luck. Or maybe just slow it down to 24 hours.
And I have done 100 years b4, but it is not as much fun by then...b/c you want to wake up and face the day!!
And also, if you really wanted to, you can also make time speed much faster in a LD than in real time (effective against those flipping Sundays!!), like 2 seconds, & you wake up (and I did this on Christmas & New Years, as well, as they were on Sunday!)
Again, just practice, & you can master dream time....however you want to master it!!

in an obe its easier cus all you have to do is percieve time and orb your consciousness and get out of it

in a lucid dream you have to figure out how to do it on your own, which shouldnt be that hard, just request for time to slow down

or do some visualization stuff, picture a meter on your pda or somethin and make the speed of time slow down to a stop or almost a stop

consciousness has no bounds, experience creates them
      Why?

In the astral plane time is really slow. It can feel like we are dreaming for two hours, than we wake up and two minutes went by on the physical clock.

By the way, how do you lucid dream when you want? You said tonight when you lucid dream... like you can do it on purpose. How?

I tried it...it worked great, it felt like i was in there for a month. I got a little concerned and ended the dream and only 5 hours had passed, not that impressive but, maybe soon.

I'm sure alot of people on here can also...in fact its not that hard, all i had to do was exercise my will power and soon i was able to just have willed lucid dreams every night.

You dont really even have to practise very long.

      'exercising your will power'

by that you mean what, like a focused meditation, or just wanting to ld really bad

im just curious as to what exactly you did, ive only had 2 ld's (only one that i did stuff in) and neither were very long, although i was able to hold on to my lucidity very easily once i obtained it, just woke myself up
      Why?

Lots of different ways....the first thing i had to do was work on my dream recall...which they have posted all around here....then i continued with some regular techniques to have LDs for a while, but then i started constantly asking myself if i was dreaming all through the day. Then in my dreams it was easy to become lucid. But i wanted something better than that so i started meditating and telling myself exactly what i would dream that night...within one week whatever i told myself to dream i would dream...soon i didnt even have to meditate, then it quickly got to the point where i just willed myself to be lucid and i would be. And i want to every night, so i LD every night.

And it also helps to find little ways to exercise self-control throughout the day, that should'nt too hard.

      everything just takes practise.
