Well Lucid Dreaming, is being aware while dreaming.

Astral Projection, is like literally leaving your body in some form of energy, and being out in the actual world. This could also be called Clairovoyance or Remote Viewing the ways i've heard it described and peoples experiances with it.

Hope that clears it up a little bit.

      Dear Sil3nt,

The way I would designate Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection, catagorically, would be to say that one induces Astral Projection directly from the Waking State, through relaxation, and before one can fall asleep. Lucid Dreaming is arrived at through the Dream State, during the Sleep Cycle REM State.

Yes, yes, yes... many Lucid Dreamers are inducing their Lucid Dreams from the Waking State, as they begin to fall asleep. But if they were open to Astral Projection, they would find these same induction techniques far more effective for bring about Astral Projection, which would atune them better Conceptually for setting forward to visit the Higher Astral Planes. But since they are conceptual fixed on Lucid Dreaming and Dream Control, they waste perfectly good Astral Projections in pulling imaginary rabbits our of imaginary hats.

When one is falling asleep, one should strive for Astral Projection. But if that battle is lost and one goes into Deep Sleep and then the REM Cycles, then one should switch one's focus to Lucid Dreaming.

Each State has its proper Utility. In Lucid Dreaming one has the opportunity to fine tune one's Ideal Persona. As one strives for the perfect attitude and the perfect set of behaviors and responses, one makes progress in perfecting one's self. In Materialistic Terms, as one makes progress in Lucid Dreaming, one's Subconscious Mind works less and less against one's Higher Mind, and more and more toward supporting one's Ideal.

While Astral Projection can the avenue for our active Spiritual Quest, with Lucid Dreaming we can make of ourselves a better Persona.

      Astral projection
The act of separating the astral body (spirit or consciousness) from the physical body and its journey into the universe. Astral Projection is the intentional act of having the spirit leave the body, whereas an out-of-body experience happens involuntarily (such as while dreaming, or in a near-death experience).

There is some debate about this... I know Stephen Leberge said on Coast to Coast AM that he believes astral projection is just a type of lucid dreaming (although people who are having an OBE/astral projection aren't aware that they are dreaming... because that's not what they believe is happening). For some time I was trying to induce an astral projection and I got to the "vibrational stage", which is supposed to be the moment of separation, but I didn't get any further than that. I did have some dreams where I believed I was having an astral projection during that time, but later I was able to determine that they were dreams. And those were NOT lucid dreams.
