You have to be willing to let go of everything absolutely everything including your life. That's the risk you have to take. If your going to leave your body you have to be able to accept that you might not get back. if not then your quite simply to scared to do it.

No your fate is decided by you mostly. There are beings in the astral world that can take you to places that you might want to stay in. But to let go of all "reality" based things is a start. Because the astral world is quite obviously a different place. If you are here in this common human place then how can you be anywhere else. let your mind question and make decisions complete on your own.

Well then give me %99.9 of the ways to do it, then let me try and decide for myself. Also what do you mean by 'don't triple post man'. Is this really a rule of intrenet disscusion? If so why should i care about such stupidity.

      What the hell?

I wasn't talking to you about the triple posting, I was talking to the hypnosis dude.

Also, there are no ways to really ensure an OBE or LD, these things vary per person.

I read elsewhere, in a site about wicca and magick, that for an obe one way is to get an object with meaning to you (they recommend your crystal ball or wand, but seeing as though I have neither I'll try with my soccer ball ), to turn off all lights (you should still be able to see your object though) and to make your little hoekie wherever you are quiet and indusive to meditation and such.

Then you get in position (lying down, sitting, whatever does it) and stare at the object intently, concentrating on it. Keep doing this while your body relaxes, going to sleep, and ignore evrything else just keep your mind focused on the object. It may not work the first few times (as with everything else it takes practice and perserverance) but keep staring and eventually your body will fall asleep and your eyes will close, but you can still see the object and your room. Then get up and you're out of your body.

I've never tried this, seems like it could be lucid dreaming too, maybe it works for you. Give it a go.

When once you have tasted flight,
You will forever walk the earth with your eyes turned skyward,
      For there you have been,
And there you will always long to return

We have our physical bodies to travel to the physical world, not the Ethereal, Astral, or Dream body. These others planes of existance if real, the entire time we are still in our bodies, simply shifting our focus to these planes. I still wouldn't trust other beings there as they can psychologically harm you.

I personally think they are just as safe as regular lucid dreaming, as long as you aren't looking for trouble (and this applies to lucids as well)
