      WILD, OBE, what?

      Hi all,

As some of you know, I've been trying to WILD now almost every night for the last couple of months.
Well, last nigh, something happened. I'll leave it up to those of you with more experience to tell me what it was.

I awoke around 6 this morning and began trying to WILD. I was beginning to get a little frustrated because I was having no hypnogogic imagery or anything. I was just lying in my bed and could feel and hear all of the normal things going on.

I realized that my eye's were feeling funny. You all know that strange wide eyed feeling you get in an LD. Anyway, I thought that was strange.
I didn't remember falling asleep, there was no discontinuity.
Anyway, I opened my dream eyes and sure enough, I was lucid. I 'Sat' up in bed, but there was a weird duality. Part of me was sitting up, the other part was still lying down.

I could only hold it for a few seconds before I woke up!

Its hard to say, it could have been a OBE, but did you experience like rushing energy trough your body and feeling that energy leave your body? It could also be a WILD, but i gues you were not really sure if you were dreaming or not. I dont know for sure when I look at this, srry. but I can hardly figure out for myself sometimes wether im dreaming or not

Also if it was a WILD, you should have at least have hypno images, sounds or electri jolts.. but mabey you just forgot about it all? skipping it is possible though

No vibration, no energy surge. So probably not OBE.
What threw me was the fact that there was no hypnogogic imagery, and he fact that there was no discontinuity between waking state and the 'dream'

      Seeker,

I'm fairly certain that you had an OBE. It's true that in a classic OBE you feel the energy rush etc. But it seems that you had a partial OBE, where you transfered your conciousness into your astral energy body, but you did not achieve full separation. You had real-time vision, and could see your room exactly as it is. Apparently it is common to have a duality, where you feel your physical body and your dream body at the same time.

I sometimes transfer conciousness into my astral body, and I can see the room with my eyes closed exactly as it is. I can even read the time on the clock and confirm it shortly after I return. When I have this type of experience, I don't feel any vibrations, yet I have transfered enough energy into my energy body, to transfer conciusness. Typically I black out for what seems a few seconds before returning to the physical body.

So by what you said it seems you had an OBE experience. Try to have it again and look at your clock to confirm, or some other trick.

I'll try again tonight. I did my usual attempts at WILD this morning between 4:30 and 5:45, only thing I accomplished was having a VERY nice , but non-lucid, dream!

Doesn't seem like an OBE to me I mean the Rushing Energy Must be present and also the Multitude of various noises. I know sometimes if I concentrate hard enough within my LD I can sense connectivity with my sleeping body. So within my LD's I can still produce the ability to feel my real body. Did you at any time experience any paralysis? Or did you try to move any at all or did you just sit there?

Oh and when you do experience and OBE believe me you will know about it without a shadow of a Doubt I Promise you that.

Ok, I tried WILD last night, but I had insomnia and I couldnt fall asleep for 8 hours ← that's me after this.

Well, i have some questions regarding WILD -
      a) do you have to lie still?

b)does moving and tossing distract you

c)what are you usually thinking/visualizing while awaiting wild?

3 nights ago i had something strange - visions I wasnt thinking about popped up in my head... but no scenery "exploded" around me..

      Ev,

I found out that lying still really has no effect on whether you can induce WILD's or not. although its really better to lie completely still if you can. Moving and Tossing around would distract you because now your thinking of whats the most comfortable position instead of the matter at hand. And Always before I initate Wild Im always positively sure without any doubt that when I fall asleep Im going to be Lucid thats the only thing I think of while Im laying there. I think of nothing else but that. I don't even think of a dream setting. Im just manifesting what I want into my Dream and What I want is Lucidity!
